Help needed ! Every time I use yellow it never covers on rock , I have to paint it over and over with the yellow paint , I bought a few other yellows and they don’t cover properly either ! What am I doing wrong , new to painting!

Yellow is known for that, the first time I coloured a rock smiley face I painted it 10 times and I could still see through to the rock. The trick is paint a white layer first. I like chalk paint because it’s opaque but you can also use white gesso instead :)

I live in Canada so for most of the year I can’t use spray because it’s too cold so I use Decoart brush on gloss sealer. An Amazon link is in the description of my video if you want to see what it looks like, I normally buy it from Michaels.

I gloss them before the vinyl decal with a gloss varnish, you will find a link to it in the description below the video. the vinyl is permanent, it is the same thing car decals are made of, and they don't need anything on top of them to prevent them from falling off... thanks for watching :)

Hi! How is the paint staying on the rocks? When I do this, no matter how many base layers I use (between none and 7+ depending on the colors), how long I wait for the base to dry, whether I paint the base white or the middle color of the gradient, or what tools I use (I’ve tried various size brushes, chiseled sponge brushes, spouncers, and makeup wedges), etc. I ALWAYS get horrible streaks of rock that show through and the paint becomes very transparent after two strokes. I can’t understand what I’m doing wrong…

No I don’t, the vinyl is glossy and it’s made of the same vinyl outdoor car decals are made of, so chipping of is not a concern... you can put resin on top of it if you want but the regular brush on gloss will not stay on it as it is waterproof and it will just do dots on top of the vinyl
