I just used this video to create a 32” rifle sling. It took 26 feet of cord for the middle section. (OD GREEN USED IN THIS VIDEO) It also took two separate lengths of 18 feet each for the outer strands (WOODLAND CAMO IN THIS VIDEO). Just hoping someone might find this information useful. 👍🏻

At what length did you bend your outside pieces to tie in the bottom swivel? Is this video with his measurements he measured out 84 inches. For his short ends to tie in. What was yours?
@heatherfrench914
@heatherfrench914 8 ай бұрын
I think the guy that done the video just doubled the length he wanted it (40 inches) to get 80 then added 4 inches just to be safe. So 32 inches would be 68 inches (64 inches+4 to be safe.) I’m not absolutely positive so it may not be correct but that’s how I’m understanding it.

I used your instructions to make a strap for my AR. Worked great and looks great. I made mine with about an 8 inch adjustable canvas belt in the middle so I can adjust the size so I did paracord in two parts on the ends. Because I had to adjust the length I did a little math to help others based on your numbers this will get people pretty close: -For Center Color: 12.4 inches of paracord for every inch of sling -For Side Color: 7.75 inches of paracord for every inch of sling To calculate where to fold the side colors devide total side length by 3.7 and fold the short side to the middle (You want this short side to be just over twice your desired length.) Thanks for the great video instructions.

this is an old comment, but by my math you need 7.75 TIMES 2 for every inch of sling. here is my math... he says 42' of cord, which by your math means 40.64".... then he says 26' TIMES 2. 40.64x7.75= 315" divide by 12 equals 26' but as he said, you need 2x 26' lengths.

made one of these for my shotgun and I love it!. very comfortable and pretty simple to make. If you're going to attempt this make sure each knot gets snugged up as you go. I didnt realize how important this was and when i made my first sling it was pretty loose and not nearly as clean looking as the one i ended up making. Thanks for teaching us!

Great instruction.... I don't know what some of the commentators are talking about. I found the video very clear and easy to follow. After watching I made a 32" sling for my M14 airsoft rifle and it turned out great! Using the instructions here and dividing through for my length sling, I came up with the following: Inside cord needed is 10.76" of cord per inch of sling. Outside cord needed is 7" of cord per inch of sling times 2. I'm going to do a 30" sling for my Well MB04 airsoft sniper rifle next and see how well that formula works out. If someone beats me to it, please do let everyone know what your experience was.

Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍

first time attempting any paracord project. Very good video. May I add a suggestion, if you add a temporary simple knot to the one inch tail from the string that holds the other side loop it will prevent it from sliding from under the cow knot prematurely. if this tail slips it is all over. Thanks for the video.

I've just about finished my first attempt. The initial "Cowbwa" weave (😅) takes a little fathoming as I had to play that bit over and over and over but once it 'clicks' you get into the rhythm. I think mine looks pretty cool, I'm gonna donate it to my bro for his VSR-10 and make another one (or more) for me. Thanks for the vid, it was essential 👍🏼

An idea or two. You might want to try the Slatts rescue belt weave for a sling. That way you are not limited to the swivel width. You can widen or narrowing by adding or dropping loops. The tie offs are accomplished by running the tag end opposite of the weave and snugging tight. A second idea is to use what is called spool knitting. This gives you a hollow tube in which you can stash items such as a wire saw. Start and finish attachment to the swivel with either the Slatt's weave or the conquistador weave.

A suggestion is to use a "fid" so you just thread your cord back thru when you get to the end. You just need to burn your ends before you put it into the fid. I buy my cord thru Paracord Galaxy as I can get 1000' spools there. All US made
