I've been into AR's for more than 20 years and I purchased a RR Elite Operator probably 15 years ago. That AR to this day is my most accurate rifle, it will consistently shoot 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards all day long. I now have a safe full of Gucci AR's and none of them will perform as well as the RR, some about the same but not as consistent. I should add however that the rifle is heavy even after I removed the ridiculous handguard that thing came with.

This thing ( an older model obviously but more or less the same ) is my pride and joy, I only have one .338 Lapua that I hold in higher regard but obviously that’s a whole different class of ammo/firearms. It’s hard to find a place to shoot my .338 honestly as it is still rising at several hundred yards, but I can take out my RR Elite Operator and have fun from 25 yards to easily a relatively predictable 400 yards. I LOVE how predictable and versatile it is, I know it’s long at 16” but it’s still the firearm that is in place with some gnarly rounds for home defense. (Yes people, I have a pistol within reach when I sleep as well) my point wasn’t to go over my entire home defense line, I’m just definitely agreeing with his evaluation and saying RR is a GREAT place to start for high end builds!!!! And to the dude that said there are too many companies……. You do realize these guys are far from new, not to mention I don’t think it’s possible to create too many AMERICAN designed, built, and manufactured firearms. They are often the ones who support the lobbyists and ultimately help to keep our second amendment prevalent and strong!!!!! God Bless the USA and all who have sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy SUCH AS the full rights of the second amendment as well as supporting what we are FINALLY seeing pass through state legislation as Constitutional Carry. Thank you to all who have fought for the many freedoms we enjoy!

Just speaking on Sling and QD. Is your sling connected on the same side, front and rear? It looks like it is in the video but not by the way you were describing the rear QD. If you do run them on the same side, switch the rear ro opposite side. Right handed shooter, my rear is attached on the right side of the stock, so i dont come in contact with it. Front is all the way forward on the left. Personally I think the QD on the handguard should be all the way to the front. It gives more control of the rifle when shooting.

Mira are great but expensive $200+ and parcil is really good too and a lot cheaper by half $99 or more and often do buy one get one free sales. But as far as filters go I'd stick with Mira but you know the situation you're planning for better than I do.

This is simply an example of a higher end manufacturer which at some point you WILL be looking for. The tolerances, actual metallic structure, and attention to fine point detail will never be matched by certain other manufacturers (and don’t get me wrong! I buy their guns or build their guns too!!!) but this RR firearm is in a different category that when modified could come close to competition level. As someone who also started with a RR firearm from a pawn shop, and put over 5,000 rounds through it to date, no idea what it went through previously, I vouch for and stand behind the review of this manufacturer. I have plenty of PSA builds, but (at least in this caliber) they simply are in not the same level of AR quality with the build, and they KNOW that, it’s constantly improving but their mission statement is not the same. That simple, there are levels to this stuff most definitely!!
