This was the most exciting shit for me as a 12 year old kid. After watching a few of these I begged my folks and got a beautiful red Ibanez Roadstar electric guitar one Christmas. This whole era was a dream-like, magical time for me. I still play that Ibanez to this day.

Nuts, someone else got there first! I've got this episode on Beta and was going to post it up when I got a Betamax machine to play it on. Ahh well! I still love the Simmons drum kits form that era.. they look sooo cool!

@jconli1 I agree. I was always fascinated with music technology and I'm also a huge fan of synth era Rush. Seeing this episode again is showing me that my interest in that stuff probably developed from here.

I used to watch these all the time when they were on TV... This one, however, is enfuriating! - Both Midge and the bass guy TALK about how sensitive the guitars are controlling the synth, or show off using them... but neither of them SHOW US how it sounds, so we just have to take their word for it? Bad teachers! You have to SHOW people how it sounds when they get it wrong, not just tell them about it. ugh!

remember when BBC license payers money went on quality entertainment and educational programmes instead of sending michael fucking portillo on holiday every 2 seconds.
