What a treat! Truly keeping the 50s alive with talent, dedication, patience and understanding so that the rest of us can stay involved. Keep it up Randy.

Randy is really good playing like Scotty. Nice, clear sound. Joel Patterson is another excellent Scotty type picker.

I've loved your lessons and have been watching all your videos for more than a year now. I've been a fan of Scotty's playing since I was a child. I think your playing is without doubt one of the best and I too have a Guild X175 because of you. I hope to buy your EP soon with the Poorboys, all the best Randy from your good fan.

Randy, you are sounding fiftier than the 50s!!! The band in the "outtakes" looks great and played great! Do you have more outakes :) . Its good to see guys who are recording in the old fashioned clothes. As you said in one of your older videos (how to get the rockabilly sound): playing better in that clothes because you feel good!!! Ican see, how good you all felt in these sessions!!!

Hi Randy quick question. The lick at 4:51 that's basically just a blues turnaround in E, but we're playing in C. So that means I can also use this lick when I'm playing in E right?
@ducktailcat3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can. The notes you're playing at first are B, D and E So they could imply an E7 chord That's why it works over E. They could also imply a G6 Chord, that's why it works over G like in this example. The song is in the key of C, but the lick is played over the G chord.

This is actually technically very easy.... the difficult part is getting it down at correct speed. It's just like Metallica or any metal music... very simple music, just fast speed.
