I think he has issues with feeling safe around people. He withdraws when he thinks he's being played or scammed. Desperately wants recognition and acceptance from the Kiss band members like Gene. I think if Gene would take the time to connect with Vinnie, it would help him big time. I'm nobody special, but had a good friend who got really depressed and turned into, more or less, a zombie. I took the time to talk with him and let him hash out what was going on. Helped and encouraged him to fight for enjoying his life again. That was 10 years ago and he is doing great now. We all need help sometimes in life.

Gene and Paul won't do anything legal about it for two reasons: 1 - It isn't hurting the KISS brand, it isn't like Ace or Peters makup. They haven't used or wanted to use his makeup since the Lick It Up days. 2 - Vinnie has nothing, you can't get blood from a turnip. It would cost them more in time and money than they could ever get back from Vinnie because he doesn't have it and never will. Except for a handful of core fans everyone knows his game and to stay away from him. I'm actually surprised he's still got 65 people willing to see him but that won't last forever either, he never changes and eventually they'll all see it.

Vinnie SAVED Kiss! The songs he co-wrote kept them relevant instead of them becoming dinosaurs.
@KombatRealm5 жыл бұрын
As nice as that sounds, that's kind of pointless to say. He was in the band and making killer tunes but no one gave a shit. It wasn't until they took their makeup off that people started paying attention again. Taking the makeup off saved them and got them attention again. But to say they were relevant again is a bit of a stretch. As they were followers. Not leaders. They were lumped in with all the other 80s hair metal bands. When you think of that music and decade, Kiss isn't one of the bands often mentioned. To be honest, the reunion in 1996 is what really saved kiss. They were reduced to clubs and struggling until then. It wasn't until alive worldwide when the world finally give a damn about them again.

@Keith-Vinnie was a great songwriter and the songs he brought to Kiss are among the best songs from the 80's version of Kiss. As a songwriter Vinnie was outstanding and he helped extend the career of Kiss. Too bad he was unable to remain in the band for many, many years.

Between selling his plasma, mowing Mark Slaughter's lawn, having bake sales and signing autographs with the likes of Eddie Munster, he's probably able to eke out a living. But if all else fails, he can still buy a pile of guitar picks, tell his fans he used each one on the Creatures tour and sell them for a grand apiece to anyone dumb enough to buy them.

Mike, this was a STELLAR interview! The only thing is you gotta get that microphone issue under control. Otherwise, great stuff!

100% agree. Unfortunately there was no other mic available (in a studio!?!?) and no small mic stand. Go figure. I tried for about 15 min but didn’t want to keep Vinnie and the group waiting any longer. But I agree.

I watched this entire video and I genuinely feel bad for the people that went to this. They seriously seem brainwashed and will believe anything Vinnie says. I am legitimately not a Vinnie hater like a lot of other people, but for anyone to think this is anything more than a cash-grab is delusional.
@therockexperiencewithmikeb83655 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I agree this type of event is not for everyone. Saying that, it’s (IMO) a much better value than most M&Gs which usually last 2-5 minutes and could cost as much or more. In any case, I respect your point of view. Thanks again for watching!
@fentondilbury42724 жыл бұрын
It's an incredibly limited market, based on decades of fandom. As far as I know, no-one was promised something that wasn't delivered. If you could get this sort of deal with one of your musical Idols, do you think it would be outrageous to pay this price for a ticket? I'd suggest the value proposition for these fans was off the scale, in their favour.

Listen to him talk about how expensive the box set will be to produce. He was inspired by Gene and thinks he can sell collections of his old demos for $2000 a piece. But if you already ordered the box set for $125 thirty years ago and got completely ripped off, he'll sell you TWO box sets for $5000. He's always thinking about "the fans", he just loves the fans!

Honestly, great. If I closed my eyes i would have thought it was 1986!
If Vinnie was a good musician he would have at least a dozen records out there and if he managed to become successful after his jump start in "KISS" he wouldnt be riding on the "KISS" coat tail today. There are millions of talented musicians from all over the world, Vinnie had a a 18 month stint or blip in "KISS" and a 2 year solo career being a warm up band. What gas he done in the last 36 years besides rupping off fans, bei g arrested for beating up his ex wife, scamming people for undelivered merchandise, cancelling events or gigs, making & breaking promise after promise?
@markgrant13025 жыл бұрын
It's interesting that Vinnie allegedly can still play with no proof of it anywhere. Any clips of him playing from the last couple of years what he displays is beginner level ability. On a song as easy as cold gin he looks completely lost and infact derails the band during a transition. Not even 5 seconds of footage is out there anywhere where he appears to have a clue as to what he's doing. You claim you saw and heard it. You shot video there, prove he can actually play, prove he can still shred. It won't happen, because it didn't happen. Let me guess Vinnie didn't allow filming of his playing or leagally obligated no leaks or some BS.
@MaterLacrymarum4 жыл бұрын
I just watched a live performance from a year ago - Vinnie looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. Just lost the entire time, and playing very average rhythm guitar. Sad, but it seems to be the reality - for whatever reason, he's not the same guy.

I know several people who have attended these parties. Rest assured he can still play...and still shred. I'd love to see and hear as well, but I have complete faith in my friends who have been in attendance. One, Simon Flores, described it as "primal"
