I remember in 1966 when this song came up in the dance, everyone (I mean everyone) got up and danced. It was like, automatic. It's one the greatest R&B songs ever recorded.

I was from Macon, GA which in late 60s & 70s was the Soul Capital of the USA. Home of Otis Redding & others. My first love & i went to all the sold out concerts at the Macon Coliseum. Everyone, black & white, loved soul R & B music. We saw Sam & Dave a few times. They were great...as so many others. We rocked out. Little Richard lived there too. Then the Allman Bros came along...but soul dominated for so many years...then Waylon came along & luved him too. So many...It was a small city but full of the best music around & Capricorn Records, that era. Could dance so good to their music. It was best time to be alive, had so much fun. Wore those LPs out. So grateful for good memories. Now its Pres Trumps closing song at his new rallies. Luv him too. Think hes trying to tell us something good...HOLD ON, I'M COMING...btw, Psul had a great band. They could play anything. They all had a great time. Feeling it...backup singer good too. Luv the horns, esp the sax.

DID YOU KNOW...The family of late R&B legend Isaac Hayes, the writer of this song, is suing Donald Trump for $3 million for continuing unauthorized use of this song at his political rallies, joining a long list of musical artists who are pursuing similar action against Trump. Hayes’ son made the following post on social media denouncing Trump’s use of the song: "Donald Trump epitomizes a lack of integrity and class, not only through his continuous use of my father’s music without permission but also through his history of sexual abuse against women and his racist rhetoric." I couldn't have said it better! Once again, Trump shows he is unfit to serve as POTUS, as he has demonstrated in so many other ways! I will be voting for Harris-Walz. 💙 🇺🇸
