Love the Beatles and your great collection, Wayne. I will have to come down and walk through your store again. Best wishes, Judy

This place is great...I live close by....the staff is great and knowledgeable and honest...this is your "Go To" place for Beatles (and other rock and roll memorabilia, but yeah, they specialize in Beatles and man, do they deliver the goods). You get the real deal here and they stand behind their product. I highly recommend Rockaway to collectors near and far!

I have left a small fortune on the counter of Rockaway Records and always left very happy about it. Probably my favorite show in the world for the last 25 years...

Rockaway Records is without peers !! being an east coaster, it's somewhat tough to buy from different locations without some fear that what you may get is not what you expect , but buying from Rockaway is always without any kind of apprehension and is pleasurable because you know they stand behind every item they sell . I've been buying from Rockaway for nearly 30 years and never had a single issue ! THEY ARE THE BEST !!!!

I stated this on another thread about Rockaway records....If I ever came into a large sum of money such as an inheritance or winning the lottery, I would run, not walk, to this place, go up to the owner and say "I'll take all you have that concerns The Beatles. Wrap everything up!!"

Very cool!:) Are all those Yesterday And Today's a first state?
@RockawayRecordsLA11 жыл бұрын
Two of them are first states, both mono. The rest are a mix of 2nd and 3rd state mono and stereo copies.

Definitely some extremely rare item. I suppose by now most have gone and been replaced with new. 5 Years has made a difference on some of the prices for some items. They'd be snapped up quick at those prices today.

Hey Wayne, back in 2011 I sold you a whole crapload of Beatles records. If this helps, I had a Jap Abbey Road Odeon CD with a horribly preserved OBI strip. I was selling the stuff to pay for my autistic grandsons medical. Remember me

YOU WONT BELIWEVE THIS BUT I KNEW SOMEONE WHO HAS "YESTERDAY AND TODAY" ON APPLE PRESSING WITH THE "BUTCHER COVER" "SLICK" ON THE INSIDE LIKE AN INNER SLEEVE!!! I guess some point during the 1980s or 1970s one could purchase BUTCHER COVER slicks, because another person that I knew said they had some....
@smithaustin6246 жыл бұрын
The Butcher Cover was on a Capitol label. Not Apple.

Why would you wanna sell all that lol
@kromedome01018 жыл бұрын
If the butcher cover's so rare why do I see so many copies for sale at record fairs, etc? LOL.
@buffalobraves98 жыл бұрын
Butcher's are not really rare in general terms. Certain butchers are highly desirable such as "first state" ones that never had a second cover pasted on. Those are extremely rare and expensive. Also, seeing more mono covers were sold than stereo at that time in history the stereo ones command a premium price. Thirdly, what really makes them rare is a great peel job. There's 1000's of crappy peel jobs in existence but not many perfect ones, that's the ones true collectors desire. The expert in the field is a man named Jim Hansen from Blue Jay Way galleries. He is a genius peeling off the second cover. Mine was done by him and it was worth the $50 he charged to do it. It's perfect.

Badly peeled Mono covers are not rare at all. That's most likely what you're seeing. I've had dozens. They'll still bring a couple hundred if they are not too butchered. People just want one even if they are not a big Beatles' record collector. Great conversation piece for their Man cave or Woman cave or the office.

I'm guessing that you're not a Beatles collector!!!

Like most places, I'd bet they'd negotiate on items that haven't moved for awhile but as I see it, they're right on the money .
