10:30 I think white car coming from opposite direction has the priority and we have to give way to that car because we are stopping at the stop sign. In that sense, your student has done right thing to my understanding. Please clarify me if I'm wrong as I'm also learner as well

Usually yes, for turning right you have to give way to both right and left if you have any intersection sign-like Stop or Giveaway sign or turning at a T-Intersection except at roundabout, as at roundabout you have to give way to the right and whoever is within the roundabout and turning in front of you, you have to way to them
