I'm a thirty-something mama of 4 and last month I decided to finally join my husband and the kids with this whole climbing thing. :) I have to admit, I'm totally into it and trying to learn technique as much as possible because dynamic climbing ain't happening any time soon for this mama. We are climbing 4-6 days per week and I'm finally getting over my weight and strength plateaus and I'm overcoming so many fears- heights, falling, etc. I am ADDICTED to your videos right now. Thank you SOOOO much for all you're doing here. I hope it is a fruitful business for you at this point because I'm not finding anyone posting videos for climbing as useful as you are. The comparison videos of "right way vs. wrong way" are incredibly helpful, and the videos for beginners are much appreciated. Many blessings to you!!

Real Food Family me too! I’m almost 35 and a mommy to a 3 year old boy. He’s a huge climber and I started a couple weeks ago for him (or else he literally climbs the walls and book shelves and boulders the sinks....). He loves it, he’s an absolute natural, we’ve been there every day except when I physically can’t take him. But now I’m finding it more enjoyable for me too, and I’ve been seriously trying to learn. A wall I couldn’t do a week ago, I managed to do because of all these tips and lessons I’ve been studying on KZbin. Good for you and your family! I’m trying to get my friend (her husband used to climb) into it with her kids too!

Very nice comment. When I started about 2 years ago I realized that watching videos really does help a lot. Even if sometimes just by watching the clip it's hard to really get it, little by little these movements enter your psyche and soon enough without realizing how you got here, you'll see some of these moves naturally happen in your climbs. And not so long ago finding good videos that give technical advice was very hard. This channel is very good for this.

Really solid coaching advice, I like how you showed bad examples as well so he knows what not to do. I also think it is super important how you emphasized not throwing to holds when you can just spend an extra second re-positioning your body to reach for it statically. It may be a bit harder to do in the moment but it is going to be a lot easier in the long run. Nice video!

this is the kind of break down that is like 1 out of 10000 to find.. Finding anyone you know to talk so specifically through each part is impossible, no one wants the conversation to go that deep. A lot of youtubers climbing, but this kind of analysis is unique. Really appreciate this, I feel climbers are THINKERS, but only when we use BODY POSITIONING FIRST, and STRENGTH Second. I like to use strength first because it seems easy, but watching this body positioning, I need to use this first instead. Love your video, i Subscribed, cheers!

Wow, really awesome video! I think this one was really eye opening for me. Even though you've talked before about crimps before, and I've tried to implement more of those tips, I think to see you climbing and letting go of some of the hand holds (especially the one at 4:58) - crazy! In theory it makes a lot of sense but I think to have the opportunity to actually see it, it just makes THAT much more sense. Not only that, but I love how this problem blends in foot work + body position together so well. I think as a beginner(ish), I often hear things like watch your feet, weigh into your feet, shift your weight, etc...but I sometimes it's hard to fully understand it all or you forget that everything goes hand in hand together (ie. they aren't just isolated/individual concepts of climbing). Again, I thought this problem and how you described everything highlighted all these things really well. It was also super cool to see your friend's progression. Very inspiring! Keep up the great work. Climbing aside, I really liked the filming in this one, too! I thought the panning angles of your friend visualizing the route, and you setting the camera back to have you both in frame while you teach him, looked super cool as well :). As always, thanks for your videos! Cheers.
