Thank you so much for doing this interview with my favorite member of Chicago! I am really looking forward to seeing the tour at St. George Theater in Staten Island on April 16! I'm glad that they will be performing songs from the first 2 albums and am also excited to hear some new material written by Robert Lamm. Chicago IX is one of my all-time favorite albums, and I listened to it in the late 80's and was so happily surprised to discover those songs when at the time, I was more familiar with "video ballads Chicago" which was what I saw on TV. I love Chicago, past and present, and I am SO thrilled that they are still touring. Wonderful radio interview!

2:31 Every time the band gets a new member, he makes it seem like their predecessors (except Terry Kath) were nothing and that the new person is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Watch enough and read enough of his interviews through the years and you will see the pattern. Also, the one host went a long and awkward way to tee up the worn out Jimmy Hendrix story.

I can’t stand the Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin stories. I wish they’d talk about recording Chicago V, their best by far

In response to Dennis, I see your point of view but my interpretation is that Robert is supportive and wants to promote new talent. It’s also good marketing. I have the utmost respect for Robert Lamm as a founding member of Chicago. After 55+ years of experience in the music business, I’d say he knows what he’s doing!

I believe Robert is saying that the musicianship of the new band members is better through the years

Robert should take back the negative comments he made in the Chicago Documentary of Cetera, & Seraphin

Lamms drug use and jealousy of Cetera is one of the reasons why he failed and ceased at writing/singing hits of his own in the band even after Cetera left. Seraphine wrote great songs too and it was he,who actually brought in Cetera, then years later Foster and Champlin showed more leadership than Lamm or Pankow by actions that saved the band, and by not doing drugs Seraphine had a more level head for business pertaining to the band. Lamms comments reveal what tore the classic Chicago apart. The band was actually started by Parazaider, Seraphine and Kath. Ruined by jealousy, ego and drugs.
