Great video. Subscribed. I can only think of 2 places not included here. The recording studio over near Cedars Sinai on 3rd I think is the street and the recording studio across the street from Crossroads of the World on Sunset. I lived in L.A. 18 years and went to all the spots. The famous bathroom story, that restaurant was Italian when I went ✌️☀️
@RockessentialTim4 ай бұрын
Yes, you are exactly right! The one on 3rd is now Arc Angel and owned by Neil Diamond. It is featured in our Byrds Part 1 episode. The one on Sunset is Sunset Sound and unfortunately when I asked if I could film there they said no in a very loud and uncool way. Oh well, the price you gotta pay! Thanks for the sub!

@@RockessentialTim My friend Mitch " The Masochist" a character in the movie " Big Wednesay" owns the first house on the northern corner right at beach level. He bought the place in 1965 for $25K. Over the years converting the attic into a separate upstairs apartment he could occupy while he rents out the floor level. I visited him over 10 years ago and he was getting 10 grand a month rent. And was just offered 7 million for the place. I advised him to sell it and get out of America as he reported that the BLM riots in nearby Santa Monica were horrific. Totally trashed the place. Said he slept with a loaded Luger Sam Reid (one of the first surfers to ride Malibu in the 1920's) gave him. I live in New Zealand now. Thank God.

Thank you for this. I was fortunate to be born in L.A. and have lived here most of my life. I knew most of these sites, but not all. I've been to The Whisky a bunch of times, but had no idea The London Fog was just a few buildings down. I've driven past the Love Street house and Canyon Market hundreds of times, because they are both right off Laurel Canyon. It's always fun to see the Morrison/Curson house when a Doors song happens to be playing in my car. Some time ago, there was a fire at the house (fan related?), and part had to be rebuilt. The building can be identified by the large bell on top. If you visit L.A., it's one of the easier Doors spots to get to and it's on the way to Mulholland Drive. You can also check out The Canyon Market, "where the creatures meet." They painted it groovy, to capitalize on it's history, but inside it's just a little market/liquor store. If you check out some of these sites in person, be aware that a lot of times there is no indication that anything interesting ever happened there, because the spot has been torn down and rebuilt a few times.

Hi Tim! Your content is OUTRAGEOUS! In a good way! Looks like I'm watching a MTV or VH1 special! Love the editing. Fraser Ave. has the most adorable little houses! Love the Venice Canals! That Jim Morrison hotel room looks creepy! You always show the best of LA! Another great video! God bless!

Thanks Char. I love music, I have spent most of my life making it and now I'm happy just talking about it. PS: But I also love food and that's why I love watching your channel.

Thanks Jim. I probably work harder on the making the music than I do filming the video. Its really nice when someone notices!

@@RockessentialTim It's definitely appropriate for a Doors documentary. Sounds Doors-inspired. Is there somewhere to get the music? I could jam to that.

@@jimbowers5402 Thanks. At this time it I have not put it out. I write the music for all the vids and its kinda not very well catalogued at this time, most of the pieces don't even have names. That may change in the near future and I will def let you know.
