Sometimes it works. The year that the malicious contact rule was introduced, a runner who had stopped and surrendered was ruled safe because the catcher "obstructed" him while making the tag.

A couple lessons from this video: 1. The Rockies' OF shows a lot of promise defensively, even if the rest of their team is awful. 2. A lot of OF assists are the consequence of poor base running decisions by the runner and/or 3B coach.

Rockies have always had incredible defense. Their infield has a lot of skill too this year. McMahon and Tovar were gold-glove caliber Their problems this year were mainly pitching and some offense. They lost their 2 best starting pitchers for Tommy John, and the rest of their starters under performed. The bullpen was good initially but got so overworked by the sheer amount of innings they were used.

Use your awareness. The throws are getting harder and harder throughout the video. It's clearly not the best outfield assists but the hardest thrown outifield assists. Nick Castellanos has one of the worst arm strength of any RF in baseball, he was never going to make this list because title is misleading, he can't throw upper 90's.
