Rocket Labs 003: Homemade Beacons

I have done this before, but I cut out orange triangles from construction paper so I just lay them on the page. They're reusable and don't damage the page you want to scan. I like the tape idea for a whiteboard though!

Wow I was just asking about a makeshift whiteboard I made and wondered if beacons worked on it… Some had shared that I can do what’s in the video. Even though I thought their ideas were genius but I felt uneasy, not knowing if Rocketbook would approve or appreciate. Now, I feel a little more confident trying this out. This might be helpful to me in my homeschooling lessons (and who knows in other ways) thank you! Rocketbook is amazing 🤩 glad to see that you appreciate customers ideas as well.

It’s definitely a hack. As in you’re doing extra work to do it the wrong way. It’ll work in a pinch but the beacons are honestly not expensive and the time and effort plus the ink or tape are more expensive in the long run lol. It’s funny I thought this was some random KZbinr hack but it’s from the official Rocketbook. I’m ordering mine today so I’ll see how the real product works and save the hacks for Rainey days.

What colour of orange?

Is there some secret trick to this? Tried markers on paper, tried markers on whiteboard, tried construction paper, the app just never seems to recognize these orange triangles at all. Really want to get a test of this to work before buying the real things.

Fixed this myself. The issue was both markers on white paper and the construction paper were not deep enough color. I used orange marker on orange construction paper and that got it
