How I saw it was a big moment of growth for Sheldon. He was wishing his friend well instead of being sarcastic and in a moment of emotional intensity he reached out to Amy to both give and get support. He was for a few moments normal and like every body else.

i love amy's facial expression but also the fact that Sheldon is finally wishing Howard well wishes instead of making fun of him for not being a doctor. It shows Sheldon is a human being as well as loving friend to Howard and that Sheldon really does care about Howard. Cute beyond belief.

The vanity card for this episode says it all This may sound silly, but I had to stifle tears when we wrote the last scene of tonight's episode. The same thing happened when we rehearsed it. And then again when it was performed in front of a studio audience. And yet again when we watched the final version in an editing bay. I don't know what it is, but there's something primal, something deeply human being expressed when these characters unconsciously hold hands while watching their friend embark on a monumental journey. Speaking of which, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for watching The Big Bang Theory, for being part of our journey. I hope you've laughed a lot and stifled a little. I hope you're holding someone's hand. See you next year.

I think the fact that Raj spoke to Bernadette has the same meaning behind Sheldon grabbing Amy's hand...the characters are "turning a corner" and progressing. Although it is clever, it's makes for a touching final scene but I fully expect the characters to be their usual selves with their usual social impediments in season 6.

I love the female characters on show, especially Amy. Mayim just got nominated for an Emmy for her role on the show, so I'd say writers must be doing something right. But I agree they should find away for Raj to speak to more women without alcohol.

This is my favorite moment in the series so far. I cried when I watched this episode. I loved Sheldon's comment, "Boldly go, Howard Wolowitz." This series has always had great, great moments in the season finale each year. Oh ya, my second favorite moment was when Sheldon hugged Penny.

Chuck Lorre always makes a comment at the end of each episode. For this one, he spoke about this gesture of holding hands. He said there´s something primal in it. Something that we always need. Ever since the beginning of mankind, we have searched fot ir for millenniums. People will always need human warmth. I think that no matter how obsessive-compulsive you can be, geek, nerd, afraid of commitment, bad tempered or shameless. Everyone needs someone, and there is always someone for everyone.
