In July of 2023, they were fined $7.8 million by the Federal Trade Commission for sharing private information (including sensitive health data) of their clients for advertising purposes. Alon Matas (cofounder of better help) made a statement against the allegations suggesting it was a far-fetched conspiracy. He said that would violate federal/state laws, HIPAA regulations, and their own privacy policy. Turns out, according to the FTC, BetterHelp had actually violated the law, HIPAA, and even their own privacy policy. I respect Leths hustle, but a little research goes a long way.

There are legit already devices out there that turn text into braille using actuators, but they're mad expensive. It's not unreasonable to assume you could sync up auto-generated subtitles on a video to one of those devices, but you'd also have to be able to keep up with the video. But if you're blind, you could just hear the video anyway so seems like a solution looking for a problem.

@@Zel-Veraan that would be interesting, just a field of squares, the spawning spots has a number for mines around that, and if you drive over a mine, you’d explode and the other team gets a point. Game still plays like rocket league Game ends when the field is filled out, or if timer reaches 0 Like if 5 bombs was stepped on in a row, the game would reset, both scores 0, the positioning, and the time at 500. That can be an optional thing since you could go for an infinite game, but it would make good strategies.

To all complaining about the BH ad. I'd argue that despite the fact that they sold customer information, they have had a net positive effect by making therapy services more widely available and generally cheaper. I think it's important to be aware of their unethical actions in the past before signing up, but people can make their own decisions based on the facts. I encourage everyone to do your own research and decide if you are comfortable with it, rather than relying on advertising or KZbin comments to advise your decision.

No, bad take. There are others services you can do that are more reliable even if they are a little more expensive. Don’t trust a company that firstly didn’t have certified therapists when they said they did and then sold your private consultation information to social media websites when they said they wouldn’t. Both of those are irredeemable actions no one should ever support. They don’t care about the customer and to say they have any redeemable quality just off of saying they have a net positive even though you have no evidence of that whatsoever is kind of insane. Proven extreme negatives > unfounded positives
