To expand upon the last point: if you see the last man back is in a poor spot or is playing shadow defense, get back as fast as possible. That means grabbing small boost pads along your route to net. That is NOT the time to go for a full boost canister.

Plat 3. I’d like a general wall play guide. When is a good time to be on the wall on defense, from what angle should you attack a ball on the wall, and how to best hit balls that are just far enough off the wall that you can’t drive into them.

Diamond 3 in both 2's and 3's. Increasing the speed of gameplay and clearing the ball. Once my team is on defence we struggle to get the ball out of the corner. ( We usually don't concede, but face a lot of pressure just because it's beside the goal )

Between center field and the sideline of where the play is being made, so 1st man can rotate around you without you being in the way, and he can make a touch on that side if necessary, then you can immediately follow-up after 2nd man, exactly how 2nd man did for 1st man. Pressure is a beach.

@blurryface99106 жыл бұрын
@@Matteeeeeeeeee That's why positioning your car in the right direction at all times is important. If 1st man might get a really bad touch, you should be facing your goal. 3rd man should never cross the halfway line until he rotates in.

Specific question: I'm Gold 3 and I wonder what I can do if both my teammates don't rotate correctly. Do I stick to my position or do I cut rotation/double commit in order to do what my teammate should be doing? More general suggestion: Most of the instructional videos on YT are about how to improve my own play and make less mistakes. I think by now I know why I suck, but I rarely know why others suck. Maybe you can do a different video on what you can do generally to deal with mistakes by your teammates or how to spot them in advance and act accordingly to make the best out of it. I think understanding this will certainly help me with my own positioning and decision making. By the way, I love your analyses, Virge. Saw you first in one of Sunless' videos. Keep them coming!
@trxshlord6 жыл бұрын
Double committing is nearly the worst thing to do, a lot of people ball chase at that rank and I would advise making sure you keep the rotation how it should be I.E. if you have to be a permanent goalie for a game to secure the win then do it, I found at that rank you need to play MUCH more defensively than you normally would. People still aren’t going to rotate properly in Plat, they should be better but they won’t be much better, even in a Champ 2 solo que people still double commit or make awful decisions as the last man back or just generally don’t even rotate or cut rotation a lot, the most important thing about this game is adapting to what’s happening and that’s what you need to master in my opinion, obviously speed and mechanics are important but you have to adapt to different situations.

When to double jump for aerials or single jump to have your dodge still. Also, how important is it to already be boosting prior to going up for an aerial. I play on a ps4 controller and have boost on circle with x jump, so already boosting and jumping can be tricky so I dont know if I should change boost to R1 to make this easier (but learning a new layout could be tough). Im a champ 2 so I know a bit on the topics but still would like some insight.

When to fast aerial isn't a bad suggestion. I have to kind of retrain "normal" aerials... Once I learned fast aerials they kind of took over the muscle memory. It can lead to some awkward hits where I'd have rather kept the flip.
@jonrulz57716 жыл бұрын
If u say it's tricky. That's a tell tale sign to change. You don't want to be bottle necked by controls. I've changed my control at a thousand hours in. Like completely changed em cuz I didn't use default and mine was weird as fk. But I got use to it and I am glad I changed em. It's not that hard to get use to if you play everyday for a bit.

So many people, even at the grand champ level just don’t understand the forcing part. They either give the other player too much time or is never in position to regain possession after a teammate challenges. It gets frustrating because at the high levels in this game you would expect players to understand the basic flow of the game. Instead every low gc thinks they are the best and constantly cut the rotation because they don’t know what rotating really is. I usually stay around 1550-1600 in 3’s but you would think I’m playing with platinums or golds. They may have the mechanical skill but their mental capabilities are severely lacking

One thing that i still screw up on in GC 3s is whether I should go for the ball if i’m in 2nd position if i know 3rd back would be able to get a better hit than me. Normally I turn away to let them know they can take it, but some people get confused or even angry if i don’t go for it. Should you always go for it if you are in second?
