@CallltKindle LOL they had to do so bad in placements think about it with new season champ 1 is even 100mmr lower as before so they play in the diamond 3 rank it was the season before but they were last season GC when the mmr system was not changed so they went from 1550 at least to 1160 at Max I don’t think that’s just possible with the ranking matches and if the didn’t get back up so far I think they were not so nervous like the other people they seem to be normal champ 2 players

There really isn't that much of a difference between Gold and Platinum. Gold is in the trio of bad while Platinum is generic average. Only Diamond and up can be considered good and even then Diamond is the worst of the good players.

Their opponents are D2, they're not very dangerous and it's a messy situation, they'll mess up for you to capitalize on if you let them. On the other hand, if you introduce uncertainity by going for a 50/50, it's suddenly you who open up yourself to mistakes the opponent can capitalize on. It becomes less secure as you rank up and less mistakes happen, which might be the reason I'm a measly Champ 1 myself :-D But if you want to win against D2s, that's the way to go.

differences between 1s and 3s in each rank is the consistancy Platinums in category 1 is quite slower but has alot more game sense and are more mechanical than the ranks below it. Platimuns in Category 3 which is the higher skill tier of platinum, has more consisitancy in their gameplay compared to plat 1 players

Keep in mind most players have about a thousand hours in the game by the time they reach champ 1, don’t get discouraged just keep getting better. The game only gets more fun as you climb, from my personal experience. Practice and learning about rotation can also be enjoyable, but having the right mindset is crucial. If you don’t watch the RLCS, I highly recommend it. Don’t focus on the really advanced mechanics and plays, pay attention to how the players are rotating and positioning. Understanding simple rotation is the main barrier between plat and diamond. To get into plat become comfortable with fast aerials and at least being able hit the ball in the direction you want with power. Different competitive playlists focus on different elements of the game and require different skill sets to rank up, there is overlap between playlists so ranking up after stagnating for a while in any of them means you could rank up in the others with minor adjustments. I really love this game, the only limit to your rank is your dedication. Don’t look at the mountain and be intimidated, instead, imagine the view from the top. I will say that now would be the best time to rope in any friends interested in improving. This game is one of my passions, so I’m serious about improving. If you’re more of a casual player keep playing and don’t care about your rank, just focus on having fun.

One thing I noticed about the plat 3s (low plat in 2s myself) was that they didn't know how to fight speed flips where I do, (granted I can't QUITE speedflip myself but I have a kickoff strategy that counters speedflips which leads to me usually winning)
