I’ve been trying to master air roll for a while now and your tutorial is amazing but a HUGE tip I found for air rolling is paying close attention to the hood of your car. I found that the direction you fly all relies on where the hood of your car is pointing. So, if you look at that while making minor adjustments you will be far more successful.

Really appreciate that thank you. The idea behind this little series of videos was to give people a jumping off point for how to go about starting to learn ARL / ARR it is not the be all and end all obviously but there should be plenty here to help people rather than just tell you all to "work it out for yourself". :)

The Pillars and Utopia Retro maps have paths you can fly around on to practice your control. Pillars offers 3 paths: big circle around the outside, small circle through the middle, and a figure 8 around both pillars. Utopia Retro offers you a perfect circle with a tight tunnel to practice on. I like to try to get up as high as I can on it and then drop through the goal tunnel before shooting back up.

With around 200 hours into the game, I've made it to diamond 1 and now I feel as though I should start developing these air rolling skills. I've was practicing for a few days but I just could not get a grasp on how to do it. I tried watching multiple videos on it but like you mentioned, they all said the same thing where u just gotta play the game and figure it out on your own. This vid tho has actually flat-out showed what to do and when to do it and I very much appreciate it and you earned yourself a subscriber :)

I've been discouraged from practicing this for a while because I'm a console player. I'm going to try starting in the middle of the goal on one side of the field, and focus on moving to the other end in whichever direction I'm practicing. This should resemble the training at 10:16. For example, I'll start with moving to the right end of the field. The easier that becomes, move the distance closer to half field. Repeat this moving left and then alternate them together to mimic the small adjustments needed in the air with muscle memory. Hopefully I'll give this a try and report back with my progress!

The best tip i ever got was, air roll movement comes from learning the 4 basic spin motions: kuxir twist (down), reverse kuxir twist (up), tornado spin (left or right), and reverse tornado spin (opposite tornado spin). The combinations of those 4 spins, are all you need. That being said, 4 months later and circling pillars is still hard

I was already GC2 when I discovered that everyone was using air roll left. When I started practicing I was doing the Lethamyr Rings map and I just instantly started spinning continuously. I actually learned air roll controll very quickly by going all the way from the start. You don't necessarily have to start with singular spins, but if you aren't in a higher rank already it might help doing it step by step.

Air roll right however is the opposite so basically A S E for right and A W E for left, thank me later. Edit: Q and E arent needed for directional air roll on kbm, you can change it to whatever you want but mine are binded to Q for left and E for right. Also tornado spin is Air roll left/right button+ A/D, A for air roll right and D for air roll left if u were wondering

Literally just forced myself to do it on every aerial/takeoff until it became a problem. Was spinning too much an botching easy plays, in doing so though i learned how to correct in so many diff situations as well as when to an not to spin. Point is, like he says, it will feel impossible at first but you CAN and WIL do it. Dont give up!

I think this coupled with your other air roll left videos should be more than enough to get anyone doing it as long as they put the time in to practice. One tip I might add is when I was learning from your videos I went to leth’s giant rings map and set it to impossible mode and I kept driving through and back through the first stage over and over. It gives you enough opportunities to learn the movement patterns without being too difficult but gives you the rings to aim for.

What I did to get started was realising that: Whenever the top of the car is facing me, I do my forward/backwards adjustments and whenever the top of the car is to the right/left side id make my right and left adjustments. Of course, this isn't perfect. To have it completely down I should also be able to adjust when the bottom of my car is facing me, and likewise for right/left movements. All id had to do is do the reverse of when the top of my car is facing me. But thats obviously easier said then done, still learning it

Great tips for an alternative way of doing it, this would work too but might get a bit confusing when in a rings situation but I would be interested to hear how your progress goes with it - thank you

Ok, so I normally doesn't comment on these type videos but I had to leave you a message. I personally find your tutorials to be the best I've found on KZbin. The way you explain them is just easier out of all videos I've seen. Nice job dude....From a 46 year old Plat 2 :)

This content is really good. I mean, i have 2.8k hours, have been grand champ before, but mostly because I don't do fancy stuff and have decent rotation. I've been looking for in depth guides to understanding the air roll mechanics and this is top tier. Question though: Do you ever use air roll right? I have both bound to individual keys, as well as regular air roll, and I'm wondering if I should be practicing regular air roll turns, or independent air roll turns.
