I’m very impressed with your honesty and willingness to be real about negative points, most people don’t give their true opinion till they have sold it on. Thanks for that. I’m a motorcyclist of 45 years and I’ve been through many fazes, sports, muscle, touring, adventure but the past four years has been hard on my joints to the extent that I couldn’t even swing my leg over it. My last one being a suzuki bandit 1250, I literally had reached the end and found the thought of that very upsetting. Hence my final attempt at carrying on. I’ve bought a 2011 Suzuki Burgman 650. I’ve been out 2 times on it as of yet but things are promising.

@@RocketMan_Moto Hi, i know its been 1 year since you posted this, and i got a clear idea from this that you are a Honda fan, but maybe if you consider another japanese maxi-Scooter, like the Suzuki Burgman 400, it would solve some of your complaints. Still a bit heavier than the Adv (40 kg +/-), and Fuel consuption is a bit higher. But its more confortable, Better storage, wind protection, smother suspension, more power (34HP) , more 70cc, and a bit more top speed (from 0 to 100Km/h is slower than the Adv tough). Just a sugestion. Great review/video btw.

Thanks for posting your very watchable videos on the ADV350 and for being so concise - taking the time to script the content is appreciated. I've had my ADV350 for a year here in the UK and I've done 5,250 miles. I thought I'd pick up on a few of your interesting points: The LCD screen could be larger but it suits the styling, sits in a good location and has all the necessary info'. I've managed to squeeze a charging cable out through the bottom of the front storage compartment without difficulty. At about 18 miles/litre the fuel economy could be a little better but, as you point out, the power/torque is surprising. I don't find the bike heavy, with the weight low down and the wide bar, its no problem to move around and not difficult to get it on the centre stand ( a plus point you don't mention). I'm 5'9" and the screen works very well for me. Yes, it's a touch narrow due to the handguards, which keep my hands appreciably warmer. I couldn't afford the heated grips! After some practice, it is possible to adjust the screen on the move and it keeps your core well protected leading to body warmth lasting longer than on any other motorbike I've owned (25). I find the suspension good. It's worth checking the tyre pressures as the smaller tyres seem negatively affected by even a little over inflation. The drone of the CVT isn't lovely but earplugs work and the engine itself sounds okay.. The styling still looks fresh a year on and no colour changes for 2023 help. Yes, the Karoo Streets are excellent, wet or dry, and though they've flattened off it hasn't affected the handling and they have plenty of wear left. The comfort is second to none - 2-3 hours without a break, no problem. The storage is staggering - camping trips, shopping trips, extra helmet, second jacket, standard lamp? No problem and so useful. Like you, I've done more miles and had more mini-adventures on it than I expected simply because it's so useful, fun and easy to ride. My motorbike riding friend rode it and said it was "weird", I think he secretly loved it. I do.

Hi Rob, great to hear that your still enjoying the bike. I must say life would not be the same without my ADV, as we both know it's such an excellent package. Have you changed yours with any accessories? I'm still not in love with the screen buffeting, brakes or rear suspension and will no doubt engage with possible alterations for my taste in the future, however the overwhelming feel good factor makes me so happy to have the machine. I was in my dealership recently and other than the initial batch of 3, they have only managed to get 1 more in all this time - apparently they could have sold a showrooms worth if only they could get them. Best wishes.
@robshaw2319 Жыл бұрын
@@Tim955w hi Tim. Glad to hear that you're still happy with the bike. I'm not getting the same buffeting issues at 5'9". The screen works okay. Have you tried one of those additional deflectors that clip onto the top of the screen? I did find that an adventure style helmet wS affected by buffeting, so I stick to a full face with minimal vents. I've made no modifications and probably won't. I might try a scooter "tunnel bag" to plug the gap between my legs, it still feels slightly odd to have an empty space there! I'm really looking forward to another Spring and summer of camping and touring on the ADV. I went to Scotland last summer on it. Plenty of space for luggage and superb comfort. My friend on his motorbike got a little more wet and cold and had a big bag strapped to the back of his bike...what a fool! 😋

I also have done 10000km. I pretty much agree with all your observations. The transmission noise and buffeting are the main negatives. The fuel consumption is a bit disappointing but I suppose that is the price you pay for the midrange “get up and go”. For a scooter, the handling and stability is impressive. I have done two long tours. Ireland France Spain and Switzerland. Long days on the road with little discomfort. Unlike you I found the rear suspension a bit harsh until loaded with luggage. Two up, as you mention, is no problem. Thank you for the well presented review. Happy trails!

thanks for the review. Very helpful since I'd be looking for such myself. One claim though: the fuel consumption of a Vision 110 (or Wave 110 as I own it) is around 1.6-1.8 ltr/100km and those scooters are designed to be run on a very low budget. The ADV350 has nearly 3 times the horsepower (29 vs 10) and weighs nearly double - so the consumption is OK-eish for me.

My conclusion is that there are aspect of both scooters that need bringing together and wow, you would have the perfect one. I was really keen to get ones of these when it first came out, but due to the demand it took me 18 months to try one out. I wanted to be impressed, but when I returned to the dealer, I told him I was disappointed as it was not as good as what I was currently riding, a 2013 SH300i. I went ahead and bought it, for 1 reason only, passenger carrying. I agree with everything, the noise was annoying from day 1, and like you I thought it was a fault. Handling is nowhere near as hood as the SH300i, smaller wheels and those front forks find every bump. Fuel consumption was significantly worse, I average 77 mpg, SH was about 85 mpg. Top speed is no better, around 90 mph "on private roads"! The space for a passenger is far better on the ADV, but the SH is a far better scooter, and handles like a dream.

Last year I spent a week riding on Honda PCX125 in central Europe on all sorts of roads, including motorways, and found its power doable. The (light) weight of the bike was really lovely. A few times I needed to stop in places where the road was sloping in a couple of directions (only old Europe can produce such road/intersection sections) and the light weight was a blessing. I have owned the Forza 300 for 5 years and I am thinking of switching to the ADV 350 more for the chassis that impressed me a lot in the long test that I was able to perform. During the test, in addition to the positive aspects of the frame and suspension, I was however strongly struck in the ears by the crackling fart that comes out of the exhaust with the strong metallic noise that I think could be annoying on medium and long distances. Using earplugs every time seems absurd to me and also dangerous in traffic as the noise of oncoming vehicles is an important aid in driving, at least for me here in Italy.

Great list and good to have your range of minor niggles to major pluses. Your 10k says a lot about the practicality of the bike and is more of a measure than anything really. I’d be torn between the ADV (heart) and Forza (head) especially in the UK where protection is more of an issue. The pseudo off-road thing is just a marketing gimmick. I like the bigger versions of each but less the significant weight and my recent experience of the DCT in my Africa Twin actually puts me off. Your fuel consumption is a reflection of your enthusiasm I’d guess and more gentle use sees over 85mpg apparently. My current riding gets 70+mpg from my KTM 890 Adventure so in context I’d expect at least 90mpg. Thanks for the food for thought!

Great to hear that your still enjoying the ADV. Some thoughts on your experiences and a question. I have just checked the operation of my Honda heated grips and as per my memory they have to be switched back on again after the bike is switched off but they do revert back to the last setting (tested with a 5 hour period of the bike being locked). So if your operation is different and you would prefer how mine work it might be worth talking to your dealer. Regarding the wind on your legs, i tried taping up the lower side vents at the front of the fairing and thought it made a small improvement when it's a bit chilly. Question regarding wind buffeting on your helmet, do you remember if this was originally worse with the screen in its higher settings or lower settings? this may help me when i eventually get around to trying some aftermarket options (may well go with the option that has helped you). Best wishes from a very happy ADV350 owner.

Interesting idea about the fairing holes, I’ll try it next winter👍 I tried a ‘touring screen’ from WRS, but it was useless, so I went with the deflector. It must be leaking very slightly around the silencer (graphite gasket). It didn't used to do it but the clamp must be really tight. I don't think it's the variator on mine. But I did have to replace the clutch shoes at 8000 miles.

You’ve mentioned it feels bigger/roomier than the PCX. I’m curious to know if it feels like there’s more leg room when stretching them out in the forward position. I’m 6’1” with a 32” inseam and always felt cramped on the pcx. I can’t stretch my legs out and they sit in a weird, semi extended position with the soles of my feet sitting at quite an acute angle up from my lower legs. Use the bike for deliveries so on it all the time. Any improvement in this area would be greatly valued.

Hi, I find you're reviews great and really informative. I was hoping you could help me with a choice I am facing for a new bike. I am unsure between the Honda Forza 350 or the Honda adv 350. I am coming off a k5 Suzuki gsxr 750. I want something more fuel efficient that is twist and go to get to work on. Commute (uk) is about a 15 miles each way daily through town and A and B roads. I also ride twice per week 90 mile each way on motorways to London. Between the two which would you choose? I personally like the style of the adv better and the idea of a larger fork. However wind protection, and adjustable adjustable screen on the Forza are making the choice difficult. Which would you choose? As a side note I know in a previous video you said the adv is good with cross winds. Did you find the same on the Forza or do larger body panels create and issue? Thanks and hope I get a response. Keep up the good work. Elliot.

Thanks, Elliot. Well, I think you've answered your own question, or at least anticipated what I was going to say: ADV for the looks and the (very slight) off-road ability, Forza for better wind protection.
