Why would they trade the no.3 pick. PG is a fading star constantly getting injured, BI won’t be a culture guy that Houston would need. Look at okc they don’t make unnecessary trade for star players,They just trust in their youngsters and their system. They’ve 6 draft picks in their rotation. Why can’t the Rockets copy them.

I don't want them to trade for a broken down aging star, but I wouldn't mind them getting a solid role player rotation guy and moving back in the draft.

That is the problem. Young stars are not easy to come by. Old stars are easy at high prices. Gee, maybe we can trade Two starters and the 3rd and next year's first for Harden.

I want Lauri Markkanen! Good defense needs some attention, but he scored 23 points a game, 49% from the field, and 39% from 3! He's a free agent next year unless he signs an extension with Utah!

Reed is easy choice since even if we get defensive big it will create huge roster change to make it work and our shooting will go further down. Also Reed will put a fire behind both FVV and Jalen to be better. Just imagine we having Reed over Aaron Holiday and having another great free throw shooter we can count on. If Jalen doesn’t knock out of the park we can trade him and just focus on developing Cam, Reed and Amen

Picks 1 through 20 will get you about the same level of talent in this draft. This draft is loaded with solid role play potential. The reason people say it's a "weak draft" is because they don't expect any top tier all stars out of this class. Meaning nearly every player is the same and therefore it doesn't matter who you take in the first round. Therefore teams should be leaning heavier on FIT this offseason than upside. But they wont.

Here are the Rockets options. 1) Draft Clingan and get the defensive center Udoka wants. Keep in mind that Clingan is not a one and done player and has won two NCAA championships. 2) Trade back in the draft. A good target could be Portland for their 7th and 14th pick. Then draft Castle, Reed, or Dillingham as a back up point guard. Doubt Castle will last to 7, but he would be my ideal at 7. Then grab a backup center at 14 like Edey, Missi, Kel el Ware. Expectation is that both picks would be backups. 3) Trade for a superstar. Everyone says superstar, but not who. Are they talking about Edwards or SGA? Ain't happening. So they default to 34 year old George or such. Sorry, the Rockets are three years away from contending. This past season, they learned how to win home games. Now they need to learn how to win road games. The year after than, they need to learn how to win in the playoffs. George would be 37-38 by the time the Rockets are ready to contend. Plus he wants a big contract and take time away from Eason and Cam. Bad mistake to trade for an aging superstar. 4) Trade for future picks. Just gambling that they will be in the top four. Hey, the Rockets just landed a third pick. Add quality and if George will accept $25 mil a year as a free agent, great. A lot of these aging superstars will flock to the Rockets, Thunder, Spurs to the ring they don't have.

I honestly prefer Edey over Clingan. I just think he's a better player. His only "flaw" is he's older and has less years playing basketball, both of which are stupid reasons. He's played basketball for 7 years, He's played and beaten high end young players like Chet Holmgren. The Rockets DON'T need another super young player. Then the clincher's for me is he's gotten better every year (according to Purdue fans) and he's outperformed Clingan at the combine in every aspect (according to the reported results and film).

Trade the pick and package for a star like Paul George. 2024 draft isn’t too enticing.

Why Trade the pick? Look would you want Reed Sheppard on a 4-year rookie contract or Jalen Green who's rookie contract is expiring and he is still a question mark? Remember Sengun's contract is expiring also...then the following year Jabari and Tari...then the following year Amen and Cam. Green is expendable and he has been and still is immature...and now his personal life is going down an odd path. Reed Sheppard is raised by BB parents and is a very mature young man The Rockets cannot keep all 6 young guys + the #3 pick in the long term. Trade Green now while his value is good. If he turns out to be a HOFer that is okay considering the other 5 young guys and hopefully Reed Sheppard being on the roster. The main thing is the Rockets do not need to be stuck with Green if he flops and then get nothing for him...he is too big of a gamble.

I would trade Sengun while the value is high, We need size at the 5 position, and unfortunately Sengun can't play the 4. I would either package Sengun draft picks and another core peice not included Amen, and go after Embiid or trade down and grab a big in later round

@@djmill8000we don’t have identity without Sengun, if we had better shooters around him we could move him to 4 and put stretch 5 to compensate on defensive end. Jabari is more of PF/SF than a center how he moves. Problem is Jalen is who is on the paper 19ppg 42% fg and 31% three point shooter

Reed is a sixth man in the NBA. Green may or not be. He has the talent to be an all-star.

@@greglyon1402 Green is a SG at 33% on 3s. Yes he has a great first step and is fast, but his D is weak. I say less upside than a 50+% on 3s and plays D. Reed shoot 52% on 5.4 - 3s per 36m and is totally committed to D with 3stl and 1blk per 36m plus a ast/to rate of 2.24 Green shoot 33% on 7.2 - 3s in 33m and is NOT committed to D with 0.8stl and 0.3blk per 33m plus a ast/to rate of 1.4 Green has talent...Green has potential...Green has a lower BB IQ...Green has a lot of immaturity...Green has a 39yo pregnant girlfriend. Reed comes from 2 BB parents and is very mature with a high BB IQ. Saying Reed is a 6man is nuts, but it is an opinion... I prefer his stats and background over potential talent that has fallen short for 3 years now. Oh yeah...humping his boy Christopher in front of their teammates was real mature for an all-star team leader. BTW Green is 2+ years older than Reed Go Rockets
