That tilt blade on the mini is a game changer. That natural gravel deposit is a double edged sword because some of those deposits also bleed water in the wet season.

Definitely be careful, some of that stuff gets sketchy especially with a fresh rain! It needs a few rain to pack it down and settle! That’s what I’ve learned on the steep hillside road builds! Drone B those guys are kinda crazy when it comes to digging with their tracks close to the edge! Like you said, one slip or mistake and it’s over! I’ve seen these heavy equipment rescues with excavators that slid off hillsides and the operators had to jump out! If they’re lucky enough to have time to jump! It’s so dangerous! I wouldn’t try it myself, no way! lol 😂 I like my feet on the ground, Jeramy! 👍🏻

@@kirk467 I've done a lot of steep hillside work. It kinda goes with my area. You definitely have to pay attention.
@mikel95672 ай бұрын
It isn't dangerous as long as you pay attention. I'm a heavy equipment operator for a county road dept up here in WA State and pretty much our entire area is hilly and glacial till. I will say though, hills aren't fun when you're in a skid steer. I have to mow a drainage easement that gets covered in blackberries with our skid steer. It's uncomfortably steep and if you go over the cliff, which you can't see thanks to the blackberries, it's a 100' drop straight down to Puget Sound. Fun times. Wish Jeramy was closer, I wouldn't mind learning from him.
@jeramyreberpuredirt78732 ай бұрын
@mikel9567 what sucks with skidsteers, steep ground, and Blackberries, the visibility sucks and can really get a guy in a bad spot. Have a wonderful evening, and stay safe 🙂

Want to move as much material as I can but not t get to large. ! Thinking 36” digging and 36 or 48” grading ? Are those to large for this machine ? Thanks and keep the videos coming. Learning a ton !
@jeramyreberpuredirt78732 ай бұрын
@TimMcConnell-v2v I run a 30" digging bucket and a 48" grading bucket. The machine will handle a 36" digging bucket just fine. The only reason I don't have a 36" digging is I encounter a lot of very hard and sometimes rocky ground that I feel the 36" would have trouble penetraiting. Thank you and have a wonderful day 😀

Yeah building a road on a slope is tricky, but if i was doing it, I would've removed the leaves and pine straw before building, dirt on dirt is better than dirt on leaves and straw, less dirt running away from you. Hope it's not a road for something heavy or wide.....Goodluck

@triniharp8745 it's an atv trail, so I am fairly certain it will be fine. If it supports a 10000 # excavator I think it will support a 500 # atv. I have built many many miles of trails like this and have never had a problem. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful evening ❤️
