after yrs of fishing spinners im am learning baitcasters brought 4 now later color accurist p3 with flip mode to make this easier

Oh Matapeake. Been there many times. I may launch off there instead this weekend. Well this is 2017 and now they are not keepers. I can't even catch just ONE. All I get is little croakers and white perch. I was using a plastic eel. I don't use fancy gadgets like fish finders. I think that is cheating and doesn't give the fish a fair chance. I do it the old fashioned way.

He didn’t hit the bottom there is a crossbar that runs between the pilings down a ways.

I disagree. The spinning reel does a whole lot better with this type of fishing. Your hand does not move with a spinning reel either if you know what you are doing.
