Working a treat Lindsay. Went up on the roof and the valve was stuck open so did what you said and it's back in working order. Thanks for your information, probably saved me $200 or so to get someone out here.Thanks again great stuff.

Serdar sound like the drain valve is sticky, you can gently pop the top off the drain valve and spray some wd40 or similar ( turn power off although it’s only 24v but will give you a little tingle). Turn back on and see if code 2 appears again, you can reset controller by holding the down arrow key with the power on. Give this ago first, I think it should work for you. Lindsay

Lindsay, my dump valve on Breezair is constantly moving up and down failing to close resulting in water being dumped out. The unit fails to shut down even after I switch it off from the wall unit... Do I need a brand new dump valve??

Atoll lubricate the dip switch’s in the top of the drain valve, this could work.

Check the drain valve, make sure it is not open letting the water flow straight through, sometimes the drain will continually open and close if this is happening unplug drain valve and lift off the lid, lubricate the pressure switches with some rp7 or similar and all should be ok. If not the drain could be faulty. Lindsay

Hey Lindsay hopefully this message finds it way to you I have a Breezair evaporative cooler looks similar to this model in the video just the remote is stuck on the wall inside when I turn it on manually vent mode it works just fine however when put into the cool mode it will load up the error code 2 just like what is in your video. On the roof I can see the water coming out of the drain valve continuously non stop when in cooling mode. The water will stop flowing when I turn off the evaporative cooler though. How would you diagnosis this problem? It's very temperamental though sometimes when in cool mode everything works just fine and there is no water leaking out of the drain valve and I can see that pads are wet and other times it throws the error code 2 with constant water draining so I would like to find the problem asap so I know what to replace when the times come. It's bloody hot in our summers Is the problem something mechanical or electrical and what should I be looking at?
@lindsayschafer4573
@lindsayschafer4573 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like drain valve is not closing, try and see if water is going straight through as in to waste or if you continually hear water running if this is the case it the drain valve. Remove drain valve and remove top and lubricate this could fix the problem. If not replace drain valve, also check the probes as they could be corroded and require cleaning. Gives these ago and see if this clears the fault. Lindsay

@@lindsayschafer4573 hey Lindsay I took your advice and went on the roof again the dump valve started in the open position so water was definitely going right through. I held the pump part physically down and the cooling worked without any issues once the water filled up but then the dump valve would open again once I let go... I haven't tried lubricating not sure where exactly 🤔 Looking online a new dump valve would cost about $300 that's without installation Any other tips? At least I've been able to diagnosed the dump valve being the issue whether it's a mechanically or electrical issue I still need to figure it out

Hey Lindsay, I have a Breezair EXH Series Evap system with the code 2 issue at the moment. Last summer I replaced the control box and hadn't had any issues until recently. If I run it in MANUAL mode and COOL it will start up fine and pump out cool air for about 15 mins then shuts itself off and shows the SERVICE code 2 I can turn it off and start it again and it will run for the same time then shut off and do the same thing. If I start it up in MANUAL mode and on VENT it runs continuously without shutting off. What do you think the issue is ?
@lindsayschafer4573
@lindsayschafer4573 4 жыл бұрын
Ben you need to check that the water is reaching the probes, as this activates the water pump. Possible causes are faulty solenoid not allowing water in or blocked filter screen in solenoid. The drain valve is staying open allowing water to pass through machine. Check these first and let me know how you got on. Lindsay

@@lindsayschafer4573 Thanks Lindsay, I'll get up and have a look at that today - it's definitely got water flowing / wetting the pads as I had the unit open yesterday when it was running and I saw the water coming in - I didn't notice if the solenoid is blocked though so will look at that and come back to you.

Hi Lindsay. I have a Breezair EV215 unit. I was wondering if you had a link/PDF to what the flashing lights mean on the controller box. I haven't been able to find them. The problem I am having is that when I 'drain' my unit (by pressing the "Drain" button on the controller) and as the water gets low, the water starts to come in through the float so the water never stops as the drain valve is open. Could this be the solenoid? Is there a work around until I get a new solenoid )if needed. Before I started the air con, I had the flashing green light and the solid red. When I started it, the green start two flashes and the red light one flash (I think on the red one). Is this normal. Or do you check the fault lights when the machine is not running? Thanks, Mike
@lindsayschafer4573
@lindsayschafer4573 4 жыл бұрын
Mike Sounds like the solenoid is faulty as the solenoid should stop the water if you have activated the drain, sorry there is no way to get around it other than replace the solenoid they are a 24vac solenoid same as used on some irrigation system that are available at irrigation shops. They cost about $20-$30 dollars.

I have the same system but am getting service code 3 and cooling isn’t working. It happened after a power cut. I can’t find any info what so ever on what this code could be. Do you have any idea? Cheers
@lindsayschafer4573
@lindsayschafer4573 4 жыл бұрын
Mike there is no code three for Seeley coolers if there was a power outage it should be a code eight. I would turn off the power to the cooler and remove the connection from the controller. Wait at least five minutes and then connect controller and turn on power and see if this clears fault. Or try holding down the down arrow key on the controller till the 08 disappears. If this fails you may need to ring a service technician. Lindsay

Chris disconnect the valve from the control box and gently lift the top of the drain valve, spray some rp7 or something similar to lubricate the microswitch’s. clean the tips of the two prong sensor if covered with calcium. See how this goes. Normally if the drain valve is faulty it would not be operating at all. Lindsay

@@lindsayschafer4573 hi lindsay I did as you mentioned with the rp7 and now the drain valve holds water but what I'm wondering now is after turning off the unit after being used is the valve suppose to release the water inside? Because I've just taken another look inside the unit and the water was still full and hasnt drained out the valve. Is this normal function or will it drain out when I turn the unit on again another time?
@lindsayschafer4573

Chris Dix if it’s holding water after you have just stated the unit in cooling is normal, if you do not use it for 72 hrs it will automatically drain thus emptying the sump. Sounds to me you have a win.

Hi Mate, I've got the Breezair exh210-r and it had this issue past month or so where it would turn on & off continuously when you first start it. Usually turning it off from the fuse board for an hour or so and turning it back on makes it work fine. And then when we give it a rest at night, same issue happens the next day and so on. Until today where turning it off from the fuse board isn't helping anymore. I can hear it continuously clicking if I go outside, but it won't turn on. There's no error code, or service code, or any indication that there's anything wrong on the remote side. So everything is working fine from the remote. Can't go back to sleep with this damn heat. Any help would be appreciated mate. Thanks.

any idea on why control boxes are so expensive to replace? they seem to be a very simple device, breeze air tech wants to charge me $580 for a replacement. Which I will pay over my dead body. any ideas on where a cheap replacement can be found. controller is identical to the one in this video
@lindsayschafer4573

Jacob Watts they may look simple but the control box has been designed to meet Australian standards such as bleeding the system to remove contaminated water. If the control box is all that is been replaced the module is $430 ex gst and installation, the tech will also have to test each item connected to the module such as drain valve and water solenoid which can take up to 20mm so really that not a bad price and if you attempt some form of after market control I can assure you it will cost more in the long run.
