Hi Jason, what a location with so much material. Great to see that the boys have the interest as well. Had a bit of a smile with the “butt rock”, how typical and enjoyable. Best pieces, the large piece at the end, the agate core piece near the end and that piece of Jasper. Would love to see that Jasper cut , I think it looks terrific. You sure you don’t have a trolley to pick up that trunk piece, it would be something else. Great day with the kids, awesome finds, it doesn’t get much better. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

@@RockhoundingLife it's definitely fire season and it's in full blast. Eastern WA has it way worse... I've been waiting for the smoke from OR and CA to cover us but so far it's missed us thankfully. Last year I was starting to get sick from it... Crossing my fingers it stays away... But hoping so many manage thru this that are affected worse. Jared and Sara may be experiencing it more than I... Been thinking of them. Thanks for the concern! I'll let you know if it changes to worse. 😉
@RockhoundingLife

@@MarlainaAtkins I can't imagine being worried about fires. We don't get too much of that danger here. What's amazing is that we have had air quality warnings because of the smoke and haze from the fires out west. British Columbia has it bad too. Crazy how the smoke travels that far all the way over to us here on the east coast.

I have never seen anything like this! Every piece is amazing! So, the big piece of limestone with the multiple species of wood in it - can the limestone be chipped away to expose the outside of the limb casts or would that destroy the limb casts? Thank you for sharing your hunt. I enjoyed it so much, even the music.
@RockhoundingLife
@RockhoundingLife 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! Yes, if you wanted to take the time to chip away the limestone to expose the limb cast it could be done. The limb cast itself is entirely made of silica so it is much much harder than the limestone. The ocean will eventually remove the limestone in between leaving the round limb cast.

Is there anything left at Joggins? We went fossil hunting there in the mid 60’s. We used provincial EMR guides to find the beach. Also, we found smoky quartz and tourmaline on a highway cut from the Mahone Bay route to Bicentennial Drive. Is there a limit to the days to look or amounts of rock that a family can remove?
