My ex-wife was born at Beowawe in the early 1940's her dad was either working for a ranch there or was operating a horse camp in the area, he was one of the last of the mustangers. Her mother went into labor and there was no time to drive to Elko the nearest hospital.

Another great adventure! I don’t think I’ve been in a cinnabar mine yet, believe it or not! As a matter of fact, I’ve never been up in that part of the state of Nevada where you were. Lots of mining history up that way, though. Thanks for taking the time to document some of it. The ghost town at the end of the video was also cool to see.

Do you take a gps with you to record the area of your finds?

Do you think the cinnabar is from a hydrothermal deposit and the reason it has the swirls is from the water deposition

Are there any accessible mercury mines near Vegas (1h-2h drive?)
@mrrey89372 жыл бұрын
I watched a mini-documentary on a scientist who accidently got mercury poisoning in its purest form. Viscous, cruel, death spanning a couple of years. Like you, I would be wearing gloves and whatever to avoid contact with it, even if it is in the most benign state..........the documentary set me straight on that! Thanks for the very cool video and detailed info!! I always learn something new watching your vids and they are extremely interesting, just awesome!! .......epi-dope!!
