Rockingham Speedway hoping for revival that mirrors North Wilkesboro Speedway

This is actually located in a perfect spot. It never made any sense to abandon this track. We can also expect other forms of racing to attend the Rock. NASCAR would be served well with this comeback.

Would love to see it return. I think it could do well as long as ticket prices are reasonable. I hope SMI doesn't raise prices at NWB because they're high enough now.

If/when NASCAR would come back to the Rock at the cup level it would not be the all star race without SMI involvement. I don't think SMI (who basically owns the all star event) will run it at any track they do not own and control totally. That is a shame but a points event to take over the Chicago street course date would be great here. This track is very well suited to the next gens raceability.

Sure, but when they left NWS, attendance wasn't great. Then they finally come back and viewership is less than it was for the Texas All-Star race. If fans want NWS and Rockingham to be successful, they've gotta support them for the long haul both in attendance and viewership.

@@JBAlternate Attendance was never a problem at NWS. Capacity was. At the time NASCAR wanted as many butts in seats as possible and NWS wasn't appealing with its limited grandstands.

@@JBAlternate I went to NWS which is only 30 miles from my house and it was Always sold out back then, It was sold out last weekend too! Bruton Smith bought NWS and built TMS and then closed it! That's the Only reason he bought it was to close it and get his NASCAR buddies to give him races at his track he built in TX! ~ Greedy B.Smith wanted more money and he built a very large track that held thousands more seats ,that's all! But I can tell you that Bristol in the 80's and early 90's couldn't seat any more than NWS, so they built more seats and it is what it is today.

Charlotte, rockingham, north wilksburo, Bristol, martinsvile and Atlanta are all too close to each other. Oversaturated market. The Rock not being owned by SMI or nascar doesn’t help its future ether. I can see xfinty or trucks coming back again but not cup
