Am I the only one that wanted to see how those derringers opened? I'm guessing they pivot but do they pivot in either direction? And what mechanism locked them in position?

Beautiful! I'm not sure why anyone would gold wash anything. Gold wash wears away so easily. I guess it was for the "pomp" of presentation.

Gold wash is cheap. Years ago when I was a kid I learn to shoot a revolver on 32 rimfire, I've seen pin fire shot at a range but I've never seen fire fired from a revolver before. I hope the person who buys this takes couple shots with it, and takes a video of it and puts it on the internet.

I'm afraid I don't know. A knowledgeable collector might know the factory engraver (I did no encounter it in my research), but even with that information one can't assume the work wasn't contracted out. I'd love to make mention their name if it becomes known.
