I've got most of those guns in a box in the shed. Grandpa left them to me. I had no idea. I'm going to bring them in the house

Hmmm.. Not quite sure about the moustache bro - it's kinda giving less Last Chance Saloon and more Blue Oyster Bar vibes Lol

You mentioned the hardwood butt-stocks, and mother-of-pearl, but what are the black pistol grips made of? Is it buffalo horn, some type of early plastic, or what???
@RockIslandAuctionCompanyАй бұрын
The Colt factory letters for the Sheriff's Model and New Service list them as "Rubber." A factory letter for the Flattop Target is not available from Colt, but the grips on it are hard rubber as well.
@indigohammer5732Ай бұрын
It's "Gutta Percha". Early rubber like material used to make golf balls and pistol grips before Bakelite.

Okay I think we all need to acknowledge that Joel is a national treasure with exceptional taste in revolvers. Don't ever shave the stash. I did and regret it every day. I also live in north east Illinois and am sad that you moved but completely understand why you left this sinking ship. God speed and thank you.

Why would someone want a smooth bore 45LC revolver?

@@eddiejones8042 I figured, but why for a 45LC? Interesting. And why not just shoot the shot through a standard barrel? If it ruins it (which I doubt it would) then what's the problem?
