This will forever be a Rockman/Mega Man song. Even SMBZ recognizes this fact, not only using a Rockman song but copious amounts of Mega Man sprites for various characters and effects throughout the series. If only the show actually featured Mega Man. His overpowered abilities would fit right in.

We could have had a callback to the Sonic/Mega Man Archie Comics crossover where Mega Man merges with Rush and powers up with the Chaos Emeralds to become (Super) Super Mega Man! Alas, it was not to be.
