The second of epic animated trailers for Rockman Online now goes live. Brilliant animation and artistry abound. We see many returning characters and Robot Masters making amazing debuts. The world is still in utter chaos but this time we see X, Zero and even Axl on the scene trying to fight back the onslaught. Also what's special...is who finally meet at the end. =)

from what i've read about this so far it seems that the storyline takes place in the distant future of the X series long after everyone has died, and that all of the characters shown here are actually DNA clones based off the originals. Makes sense, since there's no way Pharohman or Airman could hope to stand up to X.

@SeventhSun Mega Man 7 and Mega Man 8 are highly underrated and needlessly resented games. They are beautiful masterpieces which allowed the series to evolve in very artistic and fun ways. The games are creative, vibrant and their music and sound effects are wonderful. These elements allowed for a deeper gameplay experience while staying true to the simple mechanics. I cannot fathom how people can bash 7 and 8. So much detail and care went into them. That trend should continue.

You know what? I’ll say it. Capcom gives us Anime styled trailers for a Mega Man trailers, yet no Anime?! Seriously?! People have been begging for this for YEARS, and Capcom doesn’t listen to their fans. Capcom just wants that sweet money we all give them for their games, and we cannot stand for it! Capcom won’t do this, all because the Japanese fanbase makes them think the American fanbase is full of scary, enraged bastards, but that’s not what we are. Capcom needs to grow a pair and listen to all fanbases, and actually give the fans of Mega Man something they *ACTUALLY WANT*! However on my end, it’d be X, Z, and ZX. That’s all I have.

Zero just destroy a bunch of maverick hunter after been activated, but after the battle with sigma he dont have any memories about that and sigma takes any responsabilities about Zero´s work.

@DemonofHell48 it actually is a platformer with 2d shooting. all of the graphics and everything are in 3d but it's still 2d platforming and action. also, there are the equivalent of "finish him" commands after you beat the boss at the end of every mission, where you get to watch your character finish off the maverick in a cinematic way.

@Perion During the times you speak of, there wasn't an apocalyptic war. Zero was awakened somehow in the X series timeline, was discovered by a Maverick Hunter unit lead by Gamma and Zero killed them all, was then met in battle by Sigma, defeated and yes, during that time Sigma was infected with the virus. As for what happened to the classic cast, it's still yet to be determined truthfully, despite what Inafune said.

The Legends series was a refreshing, unique take on Mega Man. It was ambitious and special. It still is. The internet didn't burst into an uproar when Legends 3 was cancelled for nothing. ;)

@OrangeBandanna Mega Man Classic's original intention was to be the way you describe. However as the series grew, the audience grew. The series became a major franchise introducing the X Series and Zero Series and more. What also grew was the maturity and depth of the story and the characters. The timeline became progressively darker as well as the situations. Most of the games may not relay the story too well, but it really is a nice one.

@Z3ro42 Unfortunately, no one knows for sure. However, the company producing the game recently revealed a beta testing contest type thing for lucky gamers in Asia. So I suspect sometime soon...but still no word if the game will ever be brought to different regions. =(
