Jan Howard was a Gold Star Mother; she lost a son in the Vietnam War. Watch the video from Country Roads where she talks about her sons and performs the Song" My Son", on Country Family Reunion Show. Very touching.

Wow, great song. That's late 50's- early 60's Country sound. Classic stuff. Fabulous voice in her youth. Contextually speaking, this reminds me of Lari White's song called "If You Only Knew".
