I showed a piece in one of these recent uploads. Its easy to spot. The best place to get it is at gravel companies. Go trough their rock piles...take a bucket and pick out all the chert cobbles. The larger rocks like people put in flower gardens.....or you see around some places to eat like Long John Silvers.....that bigger rock is the best.....that is the best knapping material on the planet and cheap. You can get a truck load of knapping material for pennies on the dollar. Most needs heat treated....but it is the best way to get the stuff

The video would have been a half hour if I put it all in one upload. And that greatly effects income. Most people wont watch an entire 30 minute upload. They dont have time. If I have a 8-15 minute upload.....I make way more money...because 90% of people watch all of it. Watch time is the biggest thing on youtube. A 15 minute video like this one...I want a 11-12 minute average watch time. That is the key...and that s why I break up my uploads.

I cant go live down in there valleys....the phone service is bad. I dont even have cell service on most of the dumps I dig. Live videos suck as well. If you turn on a live stream arrowhead hunting....it would have to go an hour usually to find 1 or 2 things. I stay out there all day for these clips...usually 9 or 10 till 5. They would LOW watch time...and it would greatly effect my income here. Watch time is the key to making money here

Much nicer day on the drink. That Hopewell point was a heartbreaker, it would have been gorgeous, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. I thought you were going to have to stroll out there and correct the course, of that barge, Teach, you know, just give it a little nudge. ha ha . Good finds as usual! I see those holes in the banks too. I don't see any sign of animals climbing up the bank to the hole, so my guess is that a borrowing animal, like a muskrat tunneled until it came out the bank and stopped. There isn't any sign of them using it anymore, except that it may be an escape way out of their den if a predator comes in the other way. The ones I have seen are too small for a groundhog.

You kill me every time you groan about your back. I swear I am going to design a light-weight, collapsible, adjustable, heavy-duty table/stand. The digging has got to be one thing, but being bent over, looking over those screens, half the day, is creating unnecessary strain and fatigue.
@coachkevinwilson1958
@coachkevinwilson1958 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Melissa. I was thinking about that too. I've sifted for years for shark teeth, and that's always an issue, bending over looking through the screen but also the act of sifting (unless you're doing it in waist high water). One solution might be rope handles, so that you can stand and sift, and maybe have fold out legs or something to stand it up to look through. One day, I'm going to design one.
@rockscousteau
@rockscousteau 3 жыл бұрын
It is mostly reaching with the shovel....and the suction on the bottom when you lift up the shovel. The sifting I can just roll a log out and sit my screen on it. And that alleviates that. It is mostly the shovel work to be honest.
