for slipknot i’d use a 11 gauge for Drop B and a 12 gauge for Drop A. that’s what they use

I find Ernie Ball Heavy Top Skinny Bottoms work pretty nice for drop B, but thats just me

could be done with an acoustic, acoustic-electric, or even just a clean tone electric guitar (with maybe a little reverb to give it some body) I reckon.
