I really hope we get more music like Lake Effect Kid (album and the song). I know it was a happy accident, but I think it really brought out the best of Fall Out Boy. The combination of old and new styles worked so well, and I'd love for them to take more inspiration from it. I'm also aware Lake Effect Kid (the song) was originally a demo promoting Folie a Deux back in 2008, but the finished version has a great classic and modern Fall Out Boy sound, bringing the best of both worlds together. (:

TERPS FAN 22. Yeah, it really did give off a Folie feel to it, which made it even better! In a way, it's like they gave us Foile a Deux's baby brother (if that makes any sense) just in time for its tenth anniversary.

Pete and Patrick are the main creative forces in the band. That's why Joe and Andy don't have a lot to say in interviews. When I watch an interview I want to learn about how the music came together. It's not about feeling sorry for Joe and Andy. It's about which members of the band can best answer questions about the music.
@TheKPopLife015 жыл бұрын
@@erlineandrews For the last few records Joe has been writing with Patrick and Pete, For Save Rock and Roll, Joe and Patrick wrote together for a lot of it. Joe is just as involved in the writing process as Pete and Patrick.
@erlineandrews5 жыл бұрын
Which song on Mania did Joe write? In no recent interview did I hear him say he came up with so and so song. In fact in one interview Joe couldn't even remember the names of the songs on the album. Patrick has spoken in interviews about writing Church, Young and Menace, Last of the Real Ones, Hold Me Tight or Don't and Stay Frosty. I assume he wrote the other songs as well. In no interview did anyone talk about Joe writing any of the songs.

I'm not sure if they _should_ listen to the _kids_ on the take for their singles. Cuz, and this is solely my opinion, but radio will choose songs that's playable on the air for a wide range of audience whilst their *fans* would want something they *want* to hear, and mostly that's irking to sound like another TTYG, FUTCT, IOH or Folie, which they themselves have matured from. And it's not that I don't like their old records since those were the ones that actually got me to listen to FOB but, the reason why their current fanbase are mostly on the younger scale of the age demographic is because *fans* (not all) from the 2000's probably have gotten over the band and went on to discover new bands and music genres. When FOB returned with SRAR, let's face it, these so-called *fans* would say they _suck_ since they changed their sound, _sellouts_ for being _poppy_ than punk and hated the direction of FOB 2.0. However, FOB actually garnered a new fanbase with their new sound, and this *new* fans are happy with their new album but probably fell in love more when they discovered their old songs and albums. So I think, if they'll ever release a new album, singles should be solely on the band's decision first. What they *feel* which song would best describe the album, then on with their management and radio for opinions and feedbacks. Also, I remembered an interview with Patrick saying how they played an old TTTYG or Folie song in one of their set since it was mentioned by a ton of fans however, the audience that night weren't responsive that much. It's probably the reason why they usually play hits but add a small number of other songs in their tours. Aaand, as much as *fans* says they love folie, the album was not appreciated in the era of their release. They were boo'ed on stage. I think that was an awful way to welcome the direction FOB went with that album. Be it a *hardcore* fans or casual fans. On another note, I do miss their old sound but I just wish they just let the instruments (mostly the guitars and drums) be heard on their tracks. Loved Lake Effect Kid!
