Hey SI, I think you might enjoy a book I've recommended to my students. It's called Time, Distance, and Shielding. It's a medical thriller with an x-ray tech as the hero. How does INCREASEing KVP Decreasing patient dose????? That’s everything counter intuitive to what I’ve learned…are you taking digital AEC? Not a fixed technique??? This point is stressed at the end of this video? Please explain

Increasing kVp decreases dose simply bc more x-rays pass through the patient without interaction. Low keV x-rays simply ionize the patient's skin without ever passing through the patient. That's why we use filtration... to decrease patient dose by increasing penetrability of the beam.

Does Increasing KVP increase patient dose????? This is something I don’t understand….since increasing KVP increases transmission!!! The photons blow right through the patient how does Patient dose increase!!!

Increasing kVp tends to decrease patient dose. The main way to increase patient dose is increasing mAs or decreasing kVp.
