Trying to differentiate kVp and mAs still. I understand increased mAs is a higher production of electrons and is in relationship with the quantity. but for kVp, when you say "powerful", are you referring to the speed of the electrons?

kVp is not the speed, as all x-rays travel at the same speed (speed of light 3 x 10 eighth power). With increasing kVp we are giving them more energy to get through the patient. I like to think about it like this all x-ray photons are running the same marathon by increasing kVp we are giving them the energy to finish, some won't and some will. They all run at the same speed, just some have the energy to complete the race.
