I have 2 pair of the 15s and the 18in sub, all active. I have been using g them for weddings and parties for over 6 years now. The trick is to back the highs off to the 11 or 10 o'clock position. With 2 of them and the sub at 7 I was at 119db+ at 30ft away. These will pound and are clear, they get better as they get broken in.

This was more of a critics review than an honest review....learn a little more about your products before just reviewing and bashing them for what they are not.....proper testing is a must.....just using a phone to run tests is not a true test of performance.....used with a mixer you would have probably gotten different results.....best bang for your buck should be your topic, because anyone can criticize if they can spend more money on a more expensive product.......sure you could buy one that costs $1000 and have an output of 3000w at 120db.....but even you said at 106db and being behind it you couldn't handle the output it was so loud.....I have seen these and other brands (even cheap brands) used and for the money they have an awesome sound if set up correctly and didn't over push the system for the size of area it was being used in......also most people are looking for a comparison review to purchase a product.....gear towards that and you should see your subscribers numbers go way up !!!

Can you do the Rockville RPG 15??
@waynejenkins19653 жыл бұрын
An update to my earlier post.....I recently purchased the RPG15BT V2 package for doing DJ, karaoke, parties, live music, and weddings. I am going to do an overall review of the package. So far I am pleased with the performance. It does require you to take the time to set it up properly to get a balanced sound as the mid's and high's do over power the low's if you just plug it into anything to listen to it. After setting up the 5 band EQ on the speakers along with the mixer, I was able to get a well balanced full sound. With my bass guitar amp as a subwoofer the entire system sounds amazing and will work great in large venues or outdoors. I am only running the speakers at up to 50% at this time which is more than enough for the venues I am currently playing in. I will post the link to the review here so everyone can decide for themselves if this will meet their needs.

Of the budget speakers (harbinger, behringer, samson, rockville, etc) which do you recommend?
@djijspeakerguy46283 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard good things about harbinger, and heard some of their products. Their subwoofers really surprised me. There was an event with high-end jbl vrx932lap arrays, and one year they brought two vrx918sp subs, which I was disappointed by. The next year, they had a single $600 harbinger vari 18” sub, and I seriously thought it was louder than the $4318 sub setup the year before, although that may have just been the sound guy. But my point is, It kept up with the vrx932lap arrays without struggling, which is completely crazy!

alto true or more realistic specs for output wattage and you can hear it in there tx line I have the 8s. rockville is pretty good for there passive stuff havent tried there amps/powered skeaker yet although I do have there 12" powered sub and it gets the job done no issues. Behringer and harbenger for the most part I know have good stuff for the money too although I haven't tried any harbenger speakers but did own a 12" keyboard amp/pa speaker from behringer that worked fine for several years.

Rockville overates their specs to sell their product but they do beat everything in their price range, but they can't compete in sound or power with the likes of JBL, RCF, QSC, etc. But I have found them to be cheap replacement subs for something to put in some back up speakers, but not your main go to speakers because the response time seems awful to my ears.

i have 2 rockville rpg 15 bt and a rockville bpa12 with a behringer 1000 w 15'' sub.we do 40 gigs a year ,we are a 4 pc band.we triggerd acoustic drums with an older yamaha module and have keys,1 guitar,1 bass ,3 vocals.we try to take gigs that have house sound but that dont always work out or their system sounds bad.this sys has never let me down,it sounds great.we use yamaha mixer/preamp mg16.most powerd speakers would sound bad if you test them like you do.ive had,jbl,qsc,mackie speakers the qsc are great but to heavy and to expensive i have the qsc153i spks....they sound great but the horns blow for no reason,and parts are un available most of the time.for the money behringer and rockville are the best fit for our band,if i add 2 1000 watt berhinger and 2 rockvlle 1000watt 15' wlth a sub for the mains its all you need.the key is dont overdrive them to distort.if you need it louder just add a speaker. ive heard most dj set ups just clipping and distorting becuz they dont get it.i know these cabs are rated with peak readings, and they dont produce anywhere near true 1000 watts.soon as you overdrive the amp it creates distortion ,that distortion frys the voice coil.....true clean power dont blow speakers.

Well I like your video. You were kind of going so straight to the point. I personally don't know Rockville, but I am looking for something loud and reasonably cheap. As an electronic technician I can say got what I saw in the video that the electronic soundboard might not be the best, but with a thoroidal transformer and a decent heatsink, the power should be considerable Maybe not to the 200 RMS they claim but really with half of that, it should punch solid. The speaker doesn't look that bad, of course with the price and power the output delivers you won't expect a 5 pounds of magnet. I however didn't find out if it uses an Integrated circuit or transistors in the final output stage for you didn't take out the main board Anyway you did a lot in your video and I perceived you were trying to be honest. Thanks buddy

Mackie speakers are WAY more expensive though. Some of us are poor and just trying to find something decent we can afford. One of my Powerwerks PW50 speakers blew as soon as I used it after having it for 2 years so I`m replacing with something much larger but the same price.
@AndrewNelson19852 ай бұрын
Mackie thumps are pretty budget speakers that are professional grade. That’s where these cheaper speakers like Rockville fall short, they aren’t professional grade. Another budget friendly professional quality brand is Alto.
@baneverything55802 ай бұрын
@@AndrewNelson1985 I saw review after review saying Alto powered PA speakers quit working after less than a year (8 months average) but I saw some reviews praising the pristine sound. I wish I could get my hands on an old classic Peavey PA system or a couple of their 500w powered monitors and be done with it.
@AndrewNelson19852 ай бұрын
The thing about reviews is that’s where everyone goes to complain. I own an audio production company and have experience with all kinds of brands. I’ve never had a piece of equipment fail using them as designed. What causes failures particularly with speakers is distortion. Pushing the speaker hard than it was designed to do. Not setting proper gain structure. Regardless of brand if you keep it from clipping it will live. With that said you get what you pay for, hence why an $800 speaker will outperform a $150 speaker.

Wow a lot of distortion. The speaker itself I’m positive it can play louder the problem is the extremely underpowered amp it comes with. Yeah looking at that driver that could easily handle 100-200 watts of power. Unfortunately Rockville likes to seriously seriously over rate their amps. The voice coil in a speaker is not visible by looking at the driver it’s within it. Interesting video though
