Thanks for the review! I installed one of these in my daughter’s ‘02 Corolla under the front drivers seat. I wanted a nice balanced system that didn’t break the bank. I paired this with a 100 dollar kenwood single din and 4 kicker CS 6.5s powered by the deck. The system sounds amazing. I like country and she likes hip-hop- they both sound great with this system. This sub is absolutely not the same sound as a 10” or 12” sub in the trunk but it does fill in the low end nicely. You can definitely tell there is a sub but it doesn’t rattle the windows. Make sure you measure the space under the seat-it is taller than some other competitor’s models and it need to be in the passenger cabin. I don’t think you’d get enough sound if you put this in a trunk. This would be ideal for a hatch back though. For right around 100 bucks I don’t think you can go wrong. Again if you are looking for the same sound as an amp and a 12 in the trunk then keep looking. But if you want a nice sounding balance system with plenty of low end get one of these!

I got one and installed it yesterday, you are correct this will not shake your mirrors people need to realize how much it cost, how small the driver is, how small the case is, you're going to get HUGE bass from a relatively inexpensive sub, but that said, I'm sure there are many like me that don't need something that will loosen your fillings, I have very eclectic tastes in music and it will take a little time to fine tune my setup but so far it sounds amazing, I'm thinking of making a bracket and mount the sub solidly to the underside of the seat to feel it more, that might be what is missing, I might try a tactile transducer also something like a butt-kicker.

This is what I am struggling with on what to go with in my 2022 Ioniq 5 EV. An amplified trunk mounted 8" or 10" with loss of trunk space but ability to remove when I use vehicle to camp in and sleep in OR an under seat amplified all in one 8" sub such as the Pioneer TS-WX130DA which supposedly comes with an extra "dynamic" function, which will "intelligently" enhance different frequencies from various music to give a more realistic music experience rather than pure low frequency resonance. I am installing a Match UP 7 DSP Amplifier next, front components are Audison APK 165P with plan to replace rear factories w Audison APX 6.5 coaxials. Dilema is on sub, i do know there are also 10" amplified under seat sub options but if cost close to a trunk mount option like JL or Audison I may as well go that route as it will overall perform better. I listen to a variety of music, am not a true bass head, dont need the kong kong effect but do what the sub to not be drowned out if I turn volume up similar to what you have shown. There has to be differences amongst the under seat options with some performing better for a little more. Thoughts anyone?

I got 2 tiny 4” speakers from Rockford Fosgate, super super clear and honestly they’re amazing speakers, but they lack bass and any bass causes the little speakers to rattle. So I need a little subwoofer and I think one of these will work, especially since I’m working with less space than normal. I went with the RW10CA which is a bit more boom than that 8”

@nickmorales2863 жыл бұрын
CAPTAIN HERE: If you are tapped into the speaker channels to get a signal to your amplifier, then it's not the sub woofer it's the car itself. Newer cars have a built in LPF curve at top volume so that you don't damage your interior speakers which is also going into the Amp/Subwoofer. If you use a LC2i this will allow you to use Acubass to get over that hump. My Q50 has this issue at higher volumes the bass stops but the Acubass on the LC2i cures this issue so my 2 10's and amp push like they should!

Nice video dude, I’ve got a question, I’m a home theater guy and I’ve got some home sub which extend down to 15hz and I love it. And the Rockville subwoofer says that it extends down to 20hz. The subwoofer has an excursion limiter. It's kind of like your stock audio system. On your stock stereo it limits bass frequency as the volume goes up to stop the door speakers from over extending. This subwoofer has a circuit that cuts output when it is determined that the driver has met peak excursion.

Nice video and good job explaining your thoughts. I think that your microphone didn't really pick up the sub though. If you held an SPL meter around the driver's ear level, what kind of volume can the sub produce (well) before it quits increasing and/or sounds strained? If it can hit 90db, that's useful but a little borderline. If it can hit 95ish, that's more than enough for safe listening levels plus some head room.

I think it will. Especially for the rock and drum kick heavy music. It really excels with that. Hip Hop/r&b it struggles because usually it's deep bass heavy and the sub just isn't made for it. It can play it but not with much output. So if you're looking to just take the stress off of your door speakers then this is perfect

@@Kpaceguy I agree with much of your review on the Rockville slim sub. I have the 10 inch version in my Jeep Wrangler. I originally purchased it to place under my seat but once I received it I found that the 10 inch version doesn't fit properly under the seat so I had to move it to the back. Although it doesn't have window rattling deep bass due to not being ported what I have found is that it excels at rounding out the sound across all music genres. I am supremely happy with the performance a month in - especially given the price point. I think that is an important piece for potential buyers to keep in mind since it still outperforms subs that are priced hundreds $ more. Again, if you are looking for competition level bass this is not the right choice, but if you are looking for a more rounded out sound with a factory or factory+ setup this adequately does the job.

Can you tell me if subwoofers of this brand are good for home theater, could you tell me some 10 and 12 inches?

They might be a good home theater setup depends on where you have them
