Hello Chris. I'm thinking of buying the Model T. I know it's not all stainless steel and also people had issues with it. But I wanted your opinion. Nay or Yay for the Model T? Thanks.

It's a good shaver but I'd go for the 6S or 6C before the Model T.

I found out that a blade hone helps any blade out by a large degree. It allows you to use a blade longer as well. Look it up they are not that expensive from the right seller on e-bay. Use it before every shave and it works wonders! Will turn a not so good blade into butter baby it is so smooth after honing it. Sometimes you think its the razor when probably 9 out of 10 times its the fault of a not so sharp razor blade.

Since settings aren't equal why not up the setting on the Rockwell T than the Rockwell will be as aggressive and smoother

Can't go wrong w the Progress.... a very nice shaver...I do prefer the long/heavier model. And of course my favorite adjustable razors are ALL the Gillette vintage....can't be beaten....

Thanks for posting this Chris. Always informative. I’m considering picking up an adjustable de; I’ve been using the Merkur 34C for about 4 years now. Enjoy it, but would like to try something new/different. Comparing the 34C to the Progress/Mergress in terms of aggressiveness, can a direct comparison be made as far as a setting? For example, can you say, I believe, with the same blades loaded, the 34C shaves (in terms of aggressiveness) like the Progress being dialed in on setting 2? Just as an example.

I can't give you a setting comparison but I think the progress is certainly worth trying. I'd start on 1 and get a few shaves with it and then adjust it upward until it feels right.

Imo the progress is maybe at around a 2 when compaired to the 34c. Maybe alittle more aggressive because of the blade reveal too on the progress. The 34c is a great shaver if you shave everyday to maybe 2 days growth thats my two cents :)
