Yes, Beard and Blade are fantastic. I've been buying all my stuff from them for a couple of years now, including my T2 as well. I have much the same experience with the Rockwell blades as you, but the Razor, with a Feather blade for me, even on setting 6, is smooth as silk.

Adam... firstly, thanks for watching. Beard & blade is really a great company, Also feather is such a great idea, I'm surely going to try it soon. Cheers mate 😀😎💈👍

I do have Rockwell T2 bought from bear and blade too, they are super. I think it is the definitive razor... fantastic! The only concern I have regarding the shop is the price of the supposed supercheap proraso products! I would also suggest you try, as a soap, cella, the classic one with almond oil. Much smoother than proraso.

The Rockwell T2 has been one of my favorite razors. I've been using it more then my other razors including my vintage Gillettes and Edwin Jagger DE89. The DE89 is a razor I really like as well.

I originally got a Rockwell T, but I had to send it back because it was horrible! I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried different blades and eventually realized that the head seated the blade crooked. I sent it back and bought a Rex Ambassador, which is amazing! This T2 looks nice though and I really want the gray one. Any idea the difference between the original T and the T2? Any razor for over $50 is probably not for beginners. It’s enough to buy quality, but you might not like it. Why waste the money? Edwin Jager DE 89 or Muhle R89 are great choices. Nice review by the way. 👍

@MDR6531 Perfectly picked beginners razors. They definitely have fixed all issues the Rockwell Model T had on the T2, it’s definitely my top 3 and always in my rotation. They managed to perfect and tweak all the issues the initial razor had. The blades, I’m not a fan of 😀👍🏼

Hi, love your vid. One question: why don’t you tighten the bottom of the handle until it is completely secured, like it’s stated in the manual? I always fully tighten and never had an issue. Just curious why you don’t 🙂
@allydz
@allydz 7 ай бұрын
Hi Vincent, great observation there bud. I tighten them enough while I shave but I dont push it too hard. when I park them aside, I keep them slightly loose and oiled so they don’t rust.

I'm new to the whole safety razor world. Currently trying to understand all different options. It seems that adjustable razor are the way to go for versatility (I'm guessing if budget allows it). I've heard about close comb, open comb. Seems though that close/open comb seem to not be a topic when it comes to adjustable razors. Why is that? Are "adjustable razors" implicitly all closed comb? Is there any point in looking for an open comb adjustable razor ? fyi: my use will be mainly for head shaving.
@allydz
@allydz 2 жыл бұрын
It’s the kind of comb one prefers. Generally speaking, open combs are more aggressive razors where as closed comb razors are comparatively milder. Now there are closed comb razors that could feel aggressive as well. Then there are straight bar razors too. Blades are also a factor that impact the level of aggressiveness. I buy sample packs of various blades from time to time to see which blades work for me. The blade exposure/ blade gap is another huge component that changes aggressiveness. That’s what adjustable razors play with. You choose the level of aggressiveness that suits you and your skin. Hope that helps 👍🏼
@victorbarroscoch
@victorbarroscoch 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I noticed there is a slight gap between the sides of the t bar and the blade, so in theory it could be misaligned depending on the way you place it. Do you see it in your razor? Not sure if that affects shave performance.
@allydz
@allydz 2 жыл бұрын
Valid point Victor, but I never had alignment issues due to the internal design. Holds most blades perfectly. Shave performance has always been on point, so I never bothered checking alignment on the T2. Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the review. How does Rockwell T2 get adjusted? Do you need to loosen the blade doors like people tell us to do with Vintage Gillette Adjustables?

@BigVK19

@@allydz thanks, but I'm afraid my question was not clear. I was referring to the adjustment of the blade gaps, from 1 to 6. Can the adjustment knob be turned while the blade flaps are locked in place? I know with Gillette Slim Adjustable, those flaps had to be loosened before levels were adjusted.
@allydz
@allydz Жыл бұрын
@@BigVK19 Apologies. Yes you can change change the blade aggression settings while the flaps are closed. There are times where I have toned it up and down while shaving.

I also shop with beard and Blade, do you preferre the T2 over the 6s or 6c? It's a big step up in coin. The 6s looks amazing from KZbin videos and looks nice and heavy. I want one, but the wife is like how many razors can you have.
@allydz
@allydz Жыл бұрын
@Tugboat That’s hilarious, my wife doesn’t mind it cuz I do reviews, but she does wonder sometimes how many razors do I need as well 🤣🤣. Now I have the 6C and hands down prefer the T2. It’s next level convenience to just change adjustments with a switch compared to unscrewing to change heads. Also found setting 1 on the T2 much more efficient over the 6C.
@gregsullivan7408
@gregsullivan7408 5 ай бұрын
I tried the 6C first, and exchanged it for a T2. The reason I didn't like the 6C is because the blade could be misaligned, both laterally, and rotationally. However, it shaved well, and could go VERY mild, which I liked. I probably obsessed over the visual blade misalignment more than I should have, because I kind of regret the exchange. The T2 suffers less from blade misalignment (it only misaligns laterally, and oddly, it's improved over time), BUT, it cannot go as mild as the 6C! It can only achieve the equivalent of about a 2.5 to 3 on the 6C. I really liked the #2 setting of the 6C. Just regarding the blade alignment issue - I think it's simply something we have to accept cannot be perfect - different blades will have slightly different dimensions, AND, the blades have to be easily installed & removed. If the razors were made with VERY tight tolerances, some blades may simply not fit in some razors, and also, for razors with multiple pieces that have to be disassembled & reassembled, it may be too difficult to mate the parts together properly - they have to fit together easily. I surmise that cartridges have an advantage for these reasons.

Thank you. It’s a tough 1, I switch between the two a lot. But now that I think about it, my hands gravitated naturally to grab the T2 more often. Having said that, I would go back to the 6C as well to mix the feel up. The handling of the T2, feel and angle are completely different from the 6C (or most DE Razors) 👍🏼

Update - got the new t2 razor replaced. Noticed that the TTO mechanism feels like it requires a bit more power to open but no clicking. Compared to the Gillette Slim Adjustable the torque to open the flaps needs to be at least double.

Thanks for the explanation. I am thinking about Yaqi Final Cut and Pearls Flexi. But in one review for the Pearls Flexi, the guy was saying that even its setting 1 is aggresive to some extent. This makes me doubt about buying it. Because for me the main reason for going for the adjustable is that hopefully I can find my sweat spot within its range. So, I prefer it to have its range being balancedly distrubuted from mild to aggrasive. Do you have any opinion about these two? Regarding Rockwell T2, as you explained, it should have a great performance. But at that price point I prefer it to be stainless still or full brass. Maybe it's just my opinion, but I think that chrome-plated does not look as premium as not plated metal. Yaqi has a full brass version of the Final Cut which is very chic (it's around 130$). But as explained above, I am still not sure about how well these perform.
@allydz
@allydz Жыл бұрын
@@a000ab so Flexi is the other adjustable I have. I like it but the T2 takes the cake. Sure it is expensive but you get what you pay for with quality. They do have a stainless steel version out now as well which is dearer. The Chrome finish definitely not only looks great but makes all my other razors look cheap (most of them aren’t 🤣). It’s the reason I almost don’t do videos anymore cuz I found the perfect razor.
