This video is just like most video' a commercial about Marciano, he gets praised. But there is another side in his personalty most people never got to see. Rocky Marciano, a family man, really? Just read the piece Thomas Hauser wrote about him... Also his undefeated record is disputed. It very well may have been he lost his first professional fight, went back to amateur, and became undefeated professional again. Also you can't rule out the influence of his mob ties on his career. In the end money is the only thing they really respect.

Rocky had too much integrity to call himself undefeated professionally when he was not. Also, if he had lost a professional fight I am sure many would have come forward especially the fighter to claim he defeated Rocky.

@@jamest681 Most articles and video' about Rocky Marciano repeat each other. This video is no exception. I agree that when I see RM on television and in interviews he always makes a great impression. But there are sources who show a total different picture of RM. For example here is one I just discovered: "Rocco Marchegiano spent the closing months of World War II, not in battle, not ferrying supplies to Allied troops in Normandy as was widely reported in later years, but in a military stockade in England. He was imprisoned after being arrested, court-martialed, and found guilty of robbery and assault. While an investigation of the incident was underway, Marchegiano's commanding officer, Major Richard L. Powell, told investigators that Marchegiano was an "untrustworthy, unreliable and unsatisfactory soldier" and that "his derelictions have been consistent and numerous." Powell concluded that Marchegiano was "of no value to the Army."" www.sportingnews.com/ca/boxing/news/unbeaten-book-review-rocky-marciano-biography/c911uonglpwj11bn8v8jcnmh4 Larry Holmes, and others, brought up that RM's unbeaten record is doubtful. Why? Do you own research! You talk about integrity. I can't find the piece of Thomas Hauser I mostly base my opinion on. But, from memory, he said that RM, the family man, jumped on every women he could. He cheated like hell. Many people around RM have witnessed that. Also, how much integrity can someone have when so many of his mob friends are the complete opposite of integrity? They are psychopaths! They live of robbery cheating theft extortion prostitution racketeering drugtrafficking murder etc. Here some more sources: bpb-us-e1.wpmucdn.com/wordpressua.uark.edu/dist/3/246/files/2016/05/adj-rocky.pdf 1cultureandoflove.blogspot.com/2012/02/rocky-marciano.html

Is it true that Marciano beat an over the hill Joe Lewis and dodged at all cost a fight with the man Cassius Clay dethroned, Sonny Liston?
@jamest681
@jamest681 6 ай бұрын
At the time Rocky fought Joe Louis, Rocky had only been fighting for 2 years. Joe Lewis had been fighting for 17 years. So Rocky was fighting a much more experienced fighter, a bigger fighter. Rocky fought the top contenders who earned the shot at the title. Rocky retired because he was tired of giving half of his earnings to his manager and he was losing his desire to fight. I don't think Rocky was afraid of anybody. His last fight was against Archie Moore who had more KO's than any boxer in history.

Rockys last fight was in 1955. Sonny wouldn't even be a ranked contender until 1958, 3 years later. How can you say he dodged a fight with Liston?

@@jamest681 I knew Lewis was old and over the hill but darn I had no idea Marciano was in his absolute prime. This further demonstrates my point that Rocky didn’t fight a lot of top notch fighters to arrive at his record of 49 wins.

I can name 20 modern heavyweights who would have destroyed Marciano easily. He was just too small and slow. God bless him … he had a lot of heart and I know he would have given is all. 😅

But that's what they said about him back then and he went 49-0. He didn't seem to care about the size of his opponent. They usually ended up spread out on the canvas.
