To me this fight represents life for a lot of people out there. From the first bell, constant hits with no defence, go down, getting back up again and again and again. Until finally you make a cut, people finally see what you're capable of... You realise what you're capable of. The fight continues to get harder and harder. You go down far more than you stay up, but eventually, the tides turn and your unwilling to quit becomes your greatest asset. And when the final bell dings, YOU are the one who's left standing. We're all going through something extremely hard that nobody could imagine. Yet we're all in the fight together, the message here is simple, never quit.

I love the strategy of the fight reflects their training. Drago sparred against smaller guys, aiming to pummel and get the power KO. Whereas Rocky was in the woods chopping down a tree. Rocky trained for endurance the long haul, gradually chopping at it until it eventually falls. Whereas Drago expends all his energy trying to get the instant knock out.

Jefferson Garcia Actually... I’m a real boxer and I can give you a short little run down. The ref was garbage. Both Rocky and Draco CONSTANTLY fouled each other. The technique is non existent besides maybe Apollo having good taunts and out-boxing with a bit of a hit and run system. But since Rocky is arguably based of the real Rocky Maccrrino (I think that’s his name) it would make sense that he has low technique. Besides a long time ago especially when “Boxing” was called “Prize-Fighting.” People were kinda just street fighting.

This fight has absolutely everything, it is an epic duel of power to power and confrontation perhaps of our worst fears, excellent soundtrack in combat, resistance to adversity, courage, bravery and heart, and the most important thing about this message is not to take a step back without first fighting. No matter the adversity that is in front of us, what a great example and lesson Mr. Stallone gave us in this fight, for me it is the best of the entire saga.

Rocky's strategy in this fight was actually quite brilliant (besides the whole getting his face and brain tenderized thing). He kept working those rib shots as he knew it was going to be a long fight. You could see in the final round leading up to the knockout that Drago was in genuine pain as Rocky kept pounding his ribs. Hard to fight when it's painful to breathe.

and the brilliance carries on to Creed 2. Since Ivan trained Viktor to be better than he ever was as a boxer, notice how he made Viktor's specialty to be bodyshots, Viktor crushed Adonis' ribs in both fights and it was on Ivan's directions, he taught that to Viktor because it worked so well against him when he fought Rocky.

Although all of Rocky's knockouts came from a big head shot, Rocky was always most notorious for his body shots he would deliver. In this universe, anyone who ever fought Rocky-- win or lose-- would probably tell you Rocky hurt the guy's abs and might've even broke his ribs. He broke Apollo's ribs in their first fight, and you can see how much pain Drago was in with all of the body shots Rocky was giving him in this movie. Hell, even in Rocky III, despite fighting Clubber Lang more like Apollo's style vs. his own, he was landing a lot of body shots. Tommy Gunn and Mason Dixon also got a taste of Rocky's rib-busting hooks and uppercuts.

Rocky 4 is all about capitalism vs. communism. My cousin who works at Walmart was going to rally the government for an increase in the minimum wage. But after watching Rocky 4 he realized that would be Socialism/Communism; it would steal money from capitalist owners and lead to evil in this world. So he fought for the opposite. He's really happy the minimum wage hardly ever went up in all these years and that Walmart owners got even richer. Communism lost. Capitalism won. Rocky won. Don't forget Ivan Drago is evil. My cousin is now homeless by the way.

I love how Drago recognizes the amazing endurance of Rocky, that after bringing him down several times, he kept getting back up over and over. You could see the expression on Ivan’s face that he couldn’t believe it. Like he said ‘He’s not human’.At the final round, Rocky’s determination has won not only the respect of the audience, but also that of Drago’s. He says “To the end”. They basically taking turns to punch at the end, because they are so tired but none of them are willing to give up. Not until they see the other one on the ground. It’s a battle of wills. all Drago had to do was switch up and start landing hooks to the body. I don't give a fuck how great someone's endurance and pain tolerance is, bust up their ribs and mash their stomach and they'll shut down for lack of ability to breathe, from then on their punches won't be anywhere near 100% plus they will become stiff in the midsection and their hands will instinctively drop a bit too low to protect what's left of the midsection so then you've got exposed jaw on a person who can't breathe well and is too stiff to avoid flush shots. But hey, he's just like the Russian military, big and strong but prone to failure against a weaker (on paper) opponent because of being too stupid to do anything but a full front assault.
