I have a 13 year old pugalier who has gone blind and deaf with age too. He's my cuddle monster, follows me everywhere I go, constantly has his tail up and still tries to run everywhere, even though he can't see a thing lol. He gives me way more love, companionship, loyalty, faith and devotion than he gives me stress and worry!

They need to have a home that is loving as well as giving them all the new things to let them experience things with you. They really love you and will do everything to please you. And they are so faithful and trusting. If you abandon them you will truly break their hearts. They are clowns sometimes. But they will do anything for you. I will never understand how cruel some humans are. My boy Albert is a rescue from Spain. He was terribly abused. But when he came to me in Sweden he just loved me instantly. And gave me trust in a way that no other rescue I ever had the pleasure of being a mom to. 💜🐾🌻

I've never heard my name mentioned so many times in 16 minutes my entire life! 😂 I'm disabled myself and when our dog began having weepy eyes, became diabetic, slowly became blind and then deaf, it was so difficult for him and for me. But I would never ever have thought of passing him off to a shelter just because he was difficult for me to take care of! I'm so touched that Rocky went out of his way for this dog to give her a happier senior life. They all deserve love and patience after all the love they gave us!

Having lost 2 very precious seniors the last couple of years I've got tears streaming watching this. Letting them cross over is hard enough, how anyone could abandon a senior dog is beyond me. Years back I took in a tiny old 15 year old dog with cataracts straying and found out the owners had just upped and moved and left her on the street. The estate agent rang them and they said it was too far to come back. She went to live with my friend and had a good few years of love after that. Another large Collie type I found on the streets no one claimed. She was between 10 and 15 according to the vets but no one claimed her and I got rescue help who placed her in a home. Sadly she only lived another 6 months there. There are some seriously selfish people out there so seeing all of these people coming together to help the oldies is superb. Thank you.

Rocky has inspired me to wanna volunteer! I’ve always wanted to but after watching his videos I put out applications to a few and got accepted!! I have had critters all my life. I work with GSD rescues, foster, foster failed, adopted several on my own - and I always have loved the seniors! When it was their time to go, I was with every single one of them. I held each one (and cried) but was not going to leave them alone with strangers and the most vulnerable moment of their lives. And during the lockdowns when the vet's office said I would have to drop one off, and leave ... I had a couple of vet tech friends who managed to get what was needed and come to the house! I am so thankful these friends put their jobs on the line for my babies! Our critters deserve so much more than some people give them nowadays. I will never be that person!

Oh lord I started balling my eyes out as soon as she got on his lap the 1st time .I have a 16 yr old super senior ...Miss Annie Pibbles and she is a former rescued bait dog i afopted when she was 2 and honestly I am praying i outlive her because shes slowing down but still the reason i get up each day. The thought of her ending up like poor sweet Dawn TERRIFIES me i would NEVER EVER ABANDON HER unless I died before her and Being a senior abandoned by mh own family I can tell you I undertand how Dawn feels 100% and its the scariest heartbreaking feeling of abandonment and betrayal of my life and I am not in a shelter even though it feels like it sometimes but for my own Miss Annie Pibbles who is in better shape thsn I am because I am hers and she is mine and we have each other always Please humans DONT DO WHAT DAWNS FAMILY DID TO HER ..JUST DONT they are only here such a short time as it is and they deserve to be loved to the end not dumped in a kill shelter Anyone who does that to a family pet doesnt deserve to have pets FOREVER IS FOREVER not until you have better things to do. I don't get why some people abandon their animals as soon as they are a senior. I've had 2 seniors and they were my entire life. I have 1 senior and 4 adult dogs currently but I'd never ever put my dog in the shelter. No matter the age or hardships,they will always be with me. I wish there was a place like Frosted Faces here in Florida. I will have to look into it more, because I would take seniors if I didn't have to pay for the medical. There are all kinds of pets in distress today. I have several rescued cats- and have had puppies raised with cats, but we are all aging together. During COVID I adopted two senior cats from the county shelter. The first had come in as a 13 lb spayed “ stray” I got her 3 months later, she only weighed 8 lbs, and had developed multiple health issues. My old Greyhound lived to 18 yrs. Was with me for over 16 yrs. When she finally told me it was time we took the last visit and she pass away in my arms. I can say that NOTHING would have torn me away from her. In fact, I had to force myself to finally leave her there. Her cremains are with me still. She saw me safely through many trials and truly save my life more than once. The most remarkable dog I ever knew. I had fosters, mostly Greys, over the years and she helped me with them, teaching how to be pets in a house, not racers in track kennels. Saying she had been my best friend is not an exaggeration. I will never forget nor stop missing her. To treat any dog, especially seniors in the way this family did is reprehensible in the extreme. They shouldn't ever have a dog ever again. This old lady is clearly a jewel and will make her adopter her whole world, like she no doubt tried to do with that family, despite what they put her through. If she were nearer by I would take her in a heartbeat. Good hopes for her from me.

Senior dogs are so great. My family adopted a 12 year old beagle. His name was Zac. He couldn't see or hear, but he was so sweet. It broke my heart when he passed. Seniors are great

You are amazing! I took in my mother’s 2 pups when she went to a home for Alzheimer’s disease. I had the daughter of one and the other was her litter mate sister. I loved them and took care of them till finally they both passed away. My pup passed before her sister whom lived to be nearly 18 years old. It was so hard losing them and when I was told they were going to be put down I said “like hell they are”! Was not even a thought. Even with health issues I loved and cared for them and don’t know how anyone could even think of releasing a senior dog. They were so sweet and loving I could not imagine life without them and now I miss them so much 😢

Dawn is gorgeous and so sweet! It makes me so sad to hear that her previous people thought she was old and gross. Perhaps she wouldn’t have been gross if she’d been loved and well cared for. But no matter - she’s with you, with others who love and understand her, and she will know nothing but comfort and love from now on. So sad this girl was left in the years she needed her family most. In comparison we have a 13 year old bull terrier who’s been cared for so well over those years that you can barely tell she’s 13!! Imagine how this sweet girl would look if she was treated how she deserved her whole life time. Thanks for raising awareness on senior shelter dogs.
