This song was about a man that loved a woman, shot the “cupids arrow” got it broken, picked it up and eventually brought it back. I went into the Marine Corps in 1980, was engaged then to my now wife. We broke up due to distance and me being deployed doing Marine things. I retired in 2002, and she and I reunited in 2009, married in 2011, I brought her that broken arrow. We are both over 60 now, I have Leukemia from the Camp Lejeune water, but later this month we are celebrating our 12th Anniversary. I love her more than life itself

The Album "Vagabond" debuted in the spring of:92 w/ "The Rythm Of My Heart." "Broken Arrow" single was released in the late summer (August) of '91. Really peaked as a recurrent during the Holiday Season of that year. Beautiful song

I have to agree. I got rid of many cd's but this cd of Robbie Robertson is still on my shelve. The way he sings it is just out of this world. I like rod Stewards songs but this one is not amongst my favourites despite his vocal proses. I must admit it is a great video. Better than the original.

This song is deeper for me with the thought that a broken arrow is end of war inside yourself and a bottle of rain is what you need to quench the thirst inside of yourself. Someone who brings you peace and quenches all your needs. Love this song.

I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it years ago! I know Robbie Robertson wrote the song and the lyrics and a lot of people prefer his original version but Rod’s cover tears my heart out. The imagery he uses in the video is so mystical, beautiful and sad. That, combined with his vocals and his interpretation of the melody, make it a haunting song that I’ll never forget. Just love it! 👍

Who else is gonna bring you a broken arrow Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain There he goes moving across the water There he goes turning my whole world around Do you feel what I feel Can we make it so that's part of the deal I gotta hold you in these arms of steel Lay your heart on the line this time I wanna breathe when you breathe When you whisper like that hot summer breeze Count the beads of sweat that cover me Didn't you show me a sign this time Who else is gonna bring you a broken arrow Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain There he goes moving across the water There he goes turning my whole world around, around Do you feel what I feel Do you feel what I feel Ah can you see what I see Can you cut behind the mystery I will meet you by the witness tree Leave the whole world behind I want to come when you call I'll get to you if I have to crawl They can't hold me with these iron walls We got mountains to climb, to climb Who else is gonna bring you a broken arrow Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain There he goes moving across the water There he goes turning my whole world around Turning my whole world around Turning my whole world around Turning my whole world around

@@Adrienne1968 And think about why ROD decided to record the song... He must have been moved by and thought very highly of the original.... So... You wouldnt even have Rods version, unless he heard something great to his ears from Robbie Robertson...

Absolutely beautiful Sir Rod. It makes me feel sad for those days I thought I was in love. It took almost 6 yrs to come to the conclusion I was just a stepping stone for him and Love is a " fools game" . I dam sure was a 💯 fool. Shame but hey life goes on and time heals the pain and stops the tears. Finding someone else helps with making new memories, and I have finally gotten to the point where I " allowed" myself to love again

Never realized so many of Rod's later hits were cover songs. Hard to decide if I like the originals or Rod's versions better. Downtown train by Waits is great but so is the cover same here too.

Deer Creek Indiana 1995. Last time the Grateful Dead performed live there. The sun was just setting over the hills. The sky was soft orange, red, and pink. 4th song into the first set they played this. Phil sang lead and it was one of the best moments of my life. My brother turned to me and shouted "its a Rod Stewart song!" I will never forget for the rest of my life

Bellissima Rachel!!! E Rod l'amava moltissimo!!

One of my favorites, absolutely beautiful and soul touching. To "love" someone and that love be returned is a very rare thing. These days dam near impossible especially after years together. There will be days of fighting, arguing and over petty crap. The 1st thing that tends to happen is an affair, which to me is the worst thing one can do to the other. Break up, get a divorce and just leave. Don't start messing around and being all sneaky bout it, lying etc. I had a distant friend who threw herself at my ole man, he kept her at Bay but she eventually broke him and he went for it. I knew immediately they both snuck around and betrayed me. I expected it from her because of her ways, but him? Well it floored me. He's still here with me although he refused to own up to the affair. It's just not the same, I told him to just own up to it without any details and then I'd forgive him and we could start over. Well he will not Amit to it so that tells me he will never be completely honest with me. So instead of us building our life together we're basically just existing together. I love n adore him, I always have but the magic and intense feelings of love, butterflies in the stomach, the whole nine seems to be gone and until he owns up to his affair I don't think we'll ever get past the point we are at. This song makes my heart bleed my soul broken. However things turn out is for the best I reckon. So I look at it this way, my heart is crushed, the heart is crushed into pieces of glitter and the next guy will Soo love the shine of that glitter. Too bad the one who crushed it will never know, and simply because he refuses to Amit to it. That in itself just pisses me off. Oh well his loss.

This song brings tears to my eyes, it explains what I couldn’t put into words to my husbands mistress.. in the 80’s he left me and our two small sons, I was so heart broken not knowing what I did wrong. He stayed gone for about 6 Months. I had no idea he was being unfaithful until 2012 he was emailing her and I found out after reading her version of their affair in the 80’s. I texted her and told her if he wanted her I would not stand in his way. He wasn’t having any of that, so he stayed….I cared for him until he passed away in 2021. I still don’t understand…we had love and passion but it wasn’t enough I assume. It’s hard to understand.
