*”Once, there was a fierce battle. And a quarter century has passed since you were gone. People forgot, but thought it was fine because it was peaceful. But now, here they come.”* - Miki Sagusa (Godzilla vs Gigan Rex 2022)

If you ever needed proof that Ifukube was a genius, he took a scene where a group of children sing a song they learned from a prehistoric plant to a baby dinosaur, which in turn revives and energizes a giant pterodactyl hundreds of miles away, and made it transcendent and _powerful._

This was one of the best scenes in my opinion when Rodan wakes up the girls song goes with it

The song is so Primordial, like it truly is from millions of years ago.

It's built on an ancient musical scale from that area of the world: hirajoshi, I believe. But yeah, it's exquisite.

wasn't the music "transcribed" from the prehistoric plant in the film ? It fits well with the life vs artificial life theme especially when compared to mechagodzilla's music
@patrickclark28015 жыл бұрын
@@catzilla5855 that's interesting! But yeah, in transcription, it would have to be altered to the system of equal temperament. I could totally be wrong about the exact scale, but it's definitely from a period where the math in nature was used to determine musical intervals, rather than the equally tempered simplification of intervals.

Fire Rodan is the coolest iteration of the character, not to mention the most powerful because of his new heat ray

They should really stop singing this song if they want to keep Japan intact. First they awaken Godzilla Jr, and now Rodan. On a more positive note, Fire Rodan is back for more!
