The main drum fill is derived from Dungen - Fredag at 0:47 as are a bunch of Innerspeaker/Lonerism rhythm sections

“A WONDERFUL SONG WITH AN EXISTENTIAL MESSAGE TO ALL MANKIND BY: KEVIN PARKER!” This emotional song is about the intense failures of life we must learn to overcome. Kevin Parker wrote this song as a result of the failed relationship between himself and Melody Prochet of (Melody’s Echo Chamber). They were in a relationship back in 2012, when they successfully collaborated to produce the self entitled album - Melody’s Echo Chamber, which was Melody’s debut album, and was entirely produced by Kevin Parker. I believe that throughout this time-period (2012)--the year that “Melody’s Echo Chamber” and “Lonerism,” albums were produced, something must have happened between them, whether before or after producing the albums, when they suddenly broke up--which is why Kevin Parker created this song describing the events surrounding their failed relationship. I believe Kevin Parker is explaining in this song that; LIFE GOES ON…. ……and that, we must live and learn from our mistakes, whether it is a personal relationship failure, or any other form of human failure. For those that understand the message that Kevin is conveying to us, he is simply saying that there are: LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES………. ……that may be out of our control, and therefore, we must learn to live with those consequences associated to those failures, with the full understanding that we should ALSO make whatever necessary changes and improvements in our lives, and in our behavior, in order to avoid the same circumstance from happening again….. ……….IF AT ALL POSSBLE! I sometimes wonder if Kevin has reached out to Melody after she almost lost her life in a car accident this past summer. As a result of the accident, Melody is still in the hospital enduring several operations after a broken spine, among many other serious injuries. To learn more about Melody’s condition, please click the link below: exclaim.ca/music/article/melody_prochet_of_melodys_echo_chamber_shares_update_following_serious_accident

Just a curious question man, as someone who started drumming 6 months ago. How long does it take you to learn each of these songs? Edit: And by the way man, amazing performance. I love Kevin's drumming style, and you perfected it man.
@melomania26378 жыл бұрын
Dont want to answer for him, but Id guess most songs take him a day or two to learn. Most are fairly simple. This song, note for note, probably took the longest of them all. Because every fill is different in the bridge and the arrangement is all over the place. Compared to mind mischief which is just the same measures over an over.
@RoddyBailey8 жыл бұрын
lewiscity13 For this tune I got it done after about 4 days, each day spending 3 hours or so. For me though the hardest bit is transcribing and playing it in sync with the original drums on the track. The mechanics for me isn't too challenging but it is a difficult one to start off with if you've only been playing for a short while.
@lewiscity138 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying man! Hats off to you, you're a great drummer. Just wondering what inspired you to do every Tame song? Are you a fan?
@RoddyBailey8 жыл бұрын
no problem man! HAHA yeah big time. Since their first album I have been obsessed. I wanted to give myself something challenging to do whilst I was out at sea. (All these covers were filmed on a ship you see!) You know when there is drumming that you really love and would love to know how to play but there is nothing online? I wanted to be that guy that could do it and share it with fellow fans of Tame Impala. For me I learn a lot by reading music so that's why I transcribed all the drum parts note for note (as close to anyway). I'll be doing 'Currents' but it will be slightly delayed. Good luck to you dude!
@lewiscity138 жыл бұрын
Man that's fucking amazing. You're honestly where I come for drumming tutes/transcripts. You definitely that guy where people come for drum covers. Good to see a fellow dude who loves Tame as much as me haha Thanks man, appreciate it!

What makes it sound like he’s smashing the cymbals on the record is really just his mic setup and lots of compression, and of course his specific cymbals
@MrMorganMakesMusic4 жыл бұрын
