Do u know at what DB exactly your mic is? I have to use 38-41 db to people properly hear me. Ive seen some videos where people use around mid 20'ish but with below 38 im really quiet idk why

I don't know. Usually gain at 11am or 12 noon. Talking 5-10cm from it. With a limiter that I adjust to reduce or boost it if I talk too quietly. I will do a video for this question soon hopefully to show the whole process from recording to export, upload and checking the loudness in KZbin

hey just wanted to ask if there's a reason my mic interface doesn't have a green color? it barely picks up any audio when i record even though I can hear myself through the feedback and i followed all the steps :( the gain knob is turned fully to the right too

Saying it just in case you didn't watch the video:) all.explained there. Press the mic gain button to enable +48 phantom power if your mic needs it - check your mic specs. If it says phantom power or +48v it needs it.

@@IONHowTo same setup; RODE nt1 and ai-1; the gain doesn't pick up any sound at 11-12 o'clock so i put it all the way to 4 o'clock (and yet no audio is recorded, though i can hear myself)

@@LYN_channel oh wow sorry to hear that. Something is wrong for sure. I'd try to disconnect and reconnect the xlr cable from mic to interface set gain at half way make sure phantom power led turns on (like in video) and press the monitoring knob too for direct monitoring to headphones. If it still doesn't turn orange when you talk loud and close 5cm. Connect usb to computer /laptop and install rode central app/software. Do a firmware update just in case and check again. If still the same contact rode support if you want to try maybe they know about your type of problem to sort it out. Easiest is to contact the store you bought it from to get it replaced or returned and refunded.

You're talking about plosives? Spikes on the waveform or some other thing? If it's anything else, contact rode support directly. Maybe record a sample for them to hear the problem.

I don't need to upgrade at all but it really depends what you need. I need real time monitoring with minimum delay so the ai-1 or any other interface with direct monitoring is a big deal for me. If you need a compact quick setup, the new nt1 in usb mode sounds perfect. Maybe it even has some kind of direct monitoring. I didn't check.

Mam takie pytanie, jak będę kupował Rode to lepiej kupić tego z interfejsem audio (Rode NT1) czy bez (Rode NT1-A) ale z innym interfejsem ?

Rode NT1 with interface kit is what I decided to buy. Both are great microphones but NT1 has a more flat frequency response and it does sound great for voice-overs while NT1-A has more color on the high-end and could be better for some voices. You have to try both but if not sure, get the NT1+AI-1 hit.

@@IONHowTo However, I think I would probably take the Rode NT1-A and the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen interface, because this interface is better than the one from Rode. It has a better interface and I will be able to connect it to Studio Monitors, and thanks for the answer :)

@@Kapi744 focusrite is a lot more popular, sounds like a good choice. They all have studio monitors output but scsrlet may have more configuration options.

There are asio drivers but it work directly without any extra software or drivers. Only rode central to update firmware.

Try to install the rode apps and update the firmware also make sure you speak into the side with the dot. I made this dilly mistake so saying it just in case.

@@SecondAccount-et2ne for PC there is at least one app that can do firmware updates. See on their download section. It's best to ask them for sure. You might have a bad interface or mic.

@@Hihi-be9qx see how to enable headphone monitoring for the headphones in the video - press knob. Also press gain knob to make sure p48v is on. You should talk pretty close into this microphone. Closest you can. 10-20 cm usually.

@@fuckdroz rode nt1 can't show in devices it's xlr, unless you have a usb version. Any new device that shows, try to use that as input.

Once connected with USB, click on the right - lower side on the speaker icon and in Windows 11 or even 10 it should show you a menu to chose output and chose Rode Line so you hear in headphones. Recording is from the Audio - Recording settings in Control Panel. Hope it helps.

I guess you could but it's a bad idea. Direct monitoring with wired headphones directly plugged into the ai-1 interface will give you very low latency monitoring. I can't talk if I hear myself with a half second delay.
