I'm a bit behind the times with the Sound City Plugin, I have it, and wanted to get a review of it as soon as possible, but then I saw all the other awesome YTer's who already put a review out - and I thought that a rushed video wouldn't do it justice. It's a pretty sweet plugin overall. and the DLX is awesome! Great mic for sure. Think of the Sound city plugin as something that will save your butt, not something that will revolutionize your sound. But the DLX, is something that can really take your recordings to new heights for sure. Cheers!

I mainly record folk rock, indie rock, and bedroom pop music and I’ve found your Universal Audio videos extremely helpful. I would love to see more videos on mixing, and I think a series about recording/mixing a full song with segments focused on mixing each instrument would be a great idea. Thanks for sharing! I'm actually working on a course.. it's super hard for me to share full songs on mixing because my work is all music from artists who release their music and because of this, I can't share the music without proper licensing.. it's a pain in the butt to deal with YT's licensing things and copywrite strikes.. But I definitely want to make more on this topic for sure.. another hurdle that is more of a mental hurdle for me is that there is definitely not a one sized fits all approach to ANY of it... so I have a hard time making a video saying that "this xyz way of mixing guitars is the proper way to record and mix". etc.. the truth is that being a mix engineer or producer is more about problem solving and learning many different ways of solving the same and similar problems and adding them to your toolset of knowledge to reach for next time. I'll certainly be considering videos like this! thanks again!

Well I've looked at the LX mic, and I already have a review.. overall, my thoughts would likely be very similar to that video. You should check it out. The DLX is the bigger brother with the "stereo" recording feature. That is the winner! I love that feature. The Sound City plugin is cool. I have it and have been using it. It's interesting because I find more as a tool to give nuance to a sound, rather than making people believe you recorded at Sound City.. Really useful for giving new life to drum rooms. Best, Steve

Hey Steve I am getting back into recording after many years. Mainly because my daughter is into music. She plays every instrument. I come from pre computer daw recording so when jumping back in I found one of your videos on UAD and since then I am always looking forward to your content. Thank you for your ability to teach in a way that everyone can understand. I definitely want to do one your one on one sessions in the future. I would like to see more content or walk through one of your mixing sessions. Choosing plugins, compression, EQ…. And your workflow. Fantastic! I think you'd dig this mic, or at least even just having this for guests when they come on. I suppose I could make a video about the topic. There definitely are some fine lines about simply talking, over compressing is usually a no no, it's fatiguing to the listener, so finding that balance is crucial. Cheers!
