Which adapter did you use for the ssd? Thanks. Or can you install ALL extension from Smallrig ?

Hi. It is an amazing video not just for introducing the rigs, wonderfull apps etc. the most intresting thing for me was recording on the external SSD which is connected to the hub. How can I manage the recording source? through the black magic app? or in the iphone camera setting? Thanks again for your great and high quality content.

Thank you! I use the Blackmagic Camera app because you can go into the settings and have it record to the external SSD in any of the codecs including regular H.264 or H.265 so you don't have the huge ProRes files if you don't need them. In the app, under "Media" settings you can have it record internally or select an external drive when one is connected.

Yeah to bad that it does not have an optional clamp system mount or and adjustable center so you can slide it more to the side to allow you to mount filters. The SmallRig allows you to move the center buy loosening the 2 top and 2 bottom screws so you can slide the center more to the side. Wish the SmallRig had a wider flat contact area on all for sides where the 1/4 mounting holes are so when mounting it to a tripod it does not swivel around so easily. The Rode Cage looks like a wider frame and loving the more mounting points which makes it more rugged and versatile. Rode should make that center modular so anyone can enjoy this product.

Not interesting at all; there are plenty of cage mounts out there, and there’s nothing new in this. I just don’t understand why no company has created yet a way to easily connect both a ssd and a mic on the iPhone usb-c plug. Now that’s something I would buy immediately

Nope would not buy it. Magnetic mount is lame not secure at all for the field one solid bump or stumble that phone will be on the ground for sure. Now if your able to mount a different phone holder that would be solid for sure. SmallRig also made one with magnetic mount as well with quick release handles. But not enough mounting points sigh. Would like to know about the USB-C hub you have mounted on their is it the 7 in 1 or the 9 in 1 two options on the link your provided? Great video by the way thank you.

Thanks! The hub I'm using is the 9 in 1 option but both options would work as they both have high-speed USB ports. I like to connect the SSD to a higher speed port just to make sure the external recording doesn't get bottlenecked and both of the options have a USB-C port with 10Gbps bandwidth so either one has you covered.

@@semiprotech What Field monitor are you using is that a Portkeys?
@semiprotech6 ай бұрын
@@lifebidesign I use a couple different small monitors but in this video it was a Portkeys PT5 II. I also have a couple Feelworld 7" monitors which are cheaper but also work well and have a slightly larger viewing area. The Portkeys PT5 is just a little more portable since it's smaller.
